I'll watch this evening . In for lunch. As a owner of 7 cattle panel hoop house. I absolutely LOVE IT. It's essentially my man cave. It extends our garden food growth. It has ? 44-46 large livestock wicking tubs. Plus a seeding bench. A person who likes to eat good should definitely find the room for one. Currently looking good, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots and lettuce. I only grow what my tastebuds like but of course there's a lot more that could be. I'll grow a few greens but mainly to give the chickens since the grass and bugs aren't available. Hooping raised beds is another option .

You always inspire me to try new things with gardening. I am in Baltimore city and grew bananas this year..they won't fully rippen but I have 3 rows of tiny bananas. Why not.. if the city code allows I might try a hot house next year. Keep up the good work...and for the those that doubted me I have pictures..thx

First time watching your channel! Thank you so much! What is your grow zone? We just put in a cold frame last spring, so this is my first winter using it. I was thinking I’d have to wait until February to start seeds.

If you didn't have a greenhouse, could you have used the winter sowing method by growing them in jugs or keeping plants in plastic clear totes and have the same success?

It seems to me the only areas where people need to be concerned about vernalizatiion for their plants, (making sure their plants experience enough cold temperatures) are in the subtropics and tropics where temps rarely are below 40 degrees. Certainly Zone 7 gets an honest to goodness winter with multiple months where at least evening temperatures are well below freezing. Zone 8b and 9a on the other hand have "winters" where the ground never freezes and daytime temps are usually in the 50s and 60s but it will get into the 40s at times and evening air temps may be freezing or below for a few weeks to a few months of the year. So this area should be paying closer attention to vernalization needs of plants.

I agree. Cheers

To be fair to your video watchers, you must clearly identify your cold hardy zone. Nothing can be saved in Zone 5 and zone 4 in unheated garage.
@THERUSTEDGARDEN5 күн бұрын
I say it. Adjust according to your zone. Starting times vary. What ever a perennial in your area is what you use.
@LaurafromMaine5 күн бұрын
I am zone 5b/6a and I have used the winter sowing by planting perennials in water jugs out in the snow and spring came many grew just fine even asparagus.
