Difficult you say... I'm going to try southern rata and pohutakawa, as soon as i have the seeds, or sometimes find seedlings under or near the tree! Hopefully, they aren't too difficult as i love to bonsai as well! Thanks for your videos i really get a lot of great advice from them!!

My grandmother was buried in a Pohutukawa box . I'm trying to grow one bonzi Stile that can be planted out when I die . Could you tell me any other interesting things and growing them ,I'm trying to grow mine with three shoots that I'm rubbing the lateral buds off to make grow long and straight so I can plat them together . I'm also growing few kophi trees. I used to be a nurseryman specialized in grafting fruit trees until I stuffed up my back

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. The Bonzai will be pretty interesting in a few years. I have a kauri in a pot that has two identical trunks that I'm thinking of twisting together when I plant it. Just for fun. Keep at it!

why are they rarely planted outside of New Zealand?
@redearthnativeplants1653 жыл бұрын
Howdy. I have heard of some growing overseas. There may be a perception that they only grow in NZ??? Not sure but they are the same family as the Eucalypts, Callistemon, paperbarks etc so worth a try anywhere.

@@redearthnativeplants165 Great! I've just scarified 50 odd kowhai seeds with the pliers and sandpaper. Looking forward to seeing these germinate. Thanks for your instructional videos. I had no luck prior.
