As a long time cat “owner” (more like father) they aren’t crammed in there… cats don’t want all that much space- they love being around other cats and just chillin in their little squares and moving around. These cats are infinitely better off than they are on the streets. They are SAFE, they have vet care, they are cared for with plenty of food and water & treats, and they are loved and adored by all of the volunteers and visitors. Don’t ever get discouraged by the people trying to say there are too many cats- there are too many cats on the streets!!!!!! These beautiful cats are safe and loved, support these beautiful people who care for them!!!

Palm Desert, CA, is indeed hot and dry. Most of Southern CA and inland is desert... 120° in summers, cold and dry in winter. But when it does rain, it pours & they get flash flood warnings because rain doesn't soak into the ground... if you see a trickle, get to high ground immediately as a flood comes faster than you can run.
