Growing up in a Rural Village in Germany

My memory refreshed for Germany, I visited Kaiserslautern in 2008, my hotel was traditional German house. Very nice place, German engineering, German cars, German violins, German Castles, German chocolates and German beer all are mixed enjoyed a lot about 6 months.

Burg Castle was built around 1218 Englebert II who was from Berg built it. It is basically a fortress. It reminds of Shillong where we has plums, peaches, pears, pomegranate, lemon and oranges. We had these half timber houses where there was ekra a kind of small bamboo with plaster outside to keep the house cool in summers and warm in winter. The floor was of pine wood.

Well we obviously don't have bamboo in Germany but the concept seems to be the same. You have those huge visible wood beams creating a frame between which there is a weave of twigs who are then covered with a plaster and covered with Kalk (calcium) which gives it it's white colour and makes it water and weather resistant
