I grew up in inner city Detroit. My parents were addicts. We often went without electricity or a stove. We lived in a car for months at a time. I met Max years ago... I lived between Whitehall and Montigue. My Grandmother lived on Lamos Rd. Such a small world.

It depends on the person. Some of them are homeless by choice, others mental illness with no family or friends to help them, and then there are individuals who've straight up lost it all and don't have anywhere else to go.

Lack of help for the homeless in the US. It's that simple, these problems occur en masse in America and third world countries. You simply don't have these issues in such high numbers in most Western European nations.

Millions of our homeless people, of all ages, live with friends or family members because they have that support structure. The people on the street don't have that. That's the difference.

@ 9:12 So true. I was homeless once but hung out 1000 miles away in downtown Mobile and it was the same way. I hung out in one area with other homeless people who weren't addicts or alcoholics but homeless for various reasons and the addicts and drunks hung out in Beinville Sq. I learned quick NOT to be in the aforementioned place or a couple of other places after dark.

I was homeless. By choice. A traveler train rider. You have to realize. 24 cans of Ravioli? To lug around place to place? That is kind of an insult. I would be glad for a day or two worth of food, but any more is too much. not homeless any more. Not only do I have a place, I own my place. Two school busses on 5 acres of land, paid in full in Arizona!

Th trouble is, Havik, you do not know what happened to people to make them homeless. Not everyone has a good home or loving family. People have been rejected like unwanted pets and it is easy to look down on them and consider them rubbish, but you never know: what goes round, comes round and while I do not wish you any misfortune, I urge you not to get too smug with your good fortune and to come down from your high horse.

700 billion for the military EVERY year!!! Billions for the last 2 wars (Iraq, Afghanistan). Only a tiny portion of that spent for people, infrastructure, schools, social work and housing instead would be well invested. People with a decent wage, a roof over the top and a job are productive citizens. The U.S. clearly knows how to set priorities! ;-) "If it's not for a war it can't be good" - if it is for human beings/fellow citizens they cry out "socialism" ;) No wonder this formerly great country is in decline. One more tDrUMP term and the mission (Make America shrink and laughed at again) will be accomplished. World record in deficit (financed by CHINA!) world record in mass shooting, highest rate of undereducated people, highest cost for education, largest tax cut for the wealthiest. What's so "great" about this place again???? ;-)

May Yahusha touch their souls. I was once a homeless heroin addict in Detroit from the corridor to Brightmore. I've been to the Harbor light when it was downtown and Sobriety house on the Blvd. I'm a b prefix and still have my struggles but nothing ever changed me or helped me more than giving my will and life over to the care of YAHUAH. Knowing tht HIS SON YAHUSHA HA'MASHIACH died for me and through HIS BLOOD I AM SAVED. YOU GOTTA WANT IT. MORE THAN ANY MIX JIVE MORE THAN ANY STEM FILLED HEARTACHE. YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE YOUR LOVEABLE AND WORTHY OF YAHUAH'S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. AMEN Adam

Thank you for the thumbs up. I thought about what I wrote most the night because in order to wrie it, as I'm sure you know, I had to put meself right back there in memory, that fickle siren song she is. I know you feel me. My conversion to a follower of Yahusha comes after a long life of self immersion. I hold no political views. I see the world through a lens of love now. Total love, though through discipline, and correction, a love tht assures me I am saved for A (the)KINGDOM. THOUGH I AM A wretched sinner, who loves to sin. We get confused about what that entails thanks to a hellyweird media horror show fiction. A common everyday sinner a good soul primarily. A depression case good guy dead set on Destruction. Gotta lot of time in deep thought on the place I missed in the Universe. These kids today call it a rabbit hole. Thank Ha'mashiach I identify HIS grace. So I thought about it most the night right. Praying, cause my hopes have a audiance in Yahuah, in the name of HIS blessed son today, that if you read this you might give it a "like". It also let's me know I wasn't "out of line".🤓. Traveling to Cali and Vegas and seeing a high rate of homeless white people, was a real eye opener and reality check for me. I ignorantly didn’t realize the homeless rate amongst white people... it’s pretty high and really sad in a lot of areas!! Drug addiction has no boundaries and isn’t color blind!! The highest rate of drug addictions are high amongst Caucasian communities, but is maximized and reported often amongst black and brown people!! I like the statement he gave, "People weaponize their privilege"....well, welcome to America....home of the free, the brave and the insensitive 🤦🏽‍♀️ 😞. Everyone has a beginning and a story, no matter the skin color!!

One solution could be CMT... compulsory military training for both men and women. When the leave school. They can have the opportunity to learn to clean the floors a trade or get a degree. No excuses for jobless or homelessness. EXCEPT in cases of severe drug addiction & mental illness....... State govts should fund drug & mental institutions instead of funding the blackhole of policing laws on prohibition. Sad fact that 1 in every 100 people has a severe mental disorder and only 50% of these seek help. However for majority of people just having job & stability compenstates more than people realise.
