Wow, I grow my mango trees in containers too, but VP would be at the bottom of my list of doing so. Those get massive and will require frequent root pruning, up potting and major pruning that will negatively impact on fruiting, at least down here in south Florida. That is a great looking tree for our weather! It looks like you have got the pruning/growth down to combat our "weeping" branches so many mango growers get out here. Do you still have issues with that in Phoenix with all that you have learned over the years?

Travis, I dont get the weeping branches problem anymore by pruning only once a year. Also, I only allow 2 to 4 branches on new branches, depending on the thickness of the host branch. I have learned that due to the short mango growing season in Arizona, you would want to prune only once a year. You also need to prune as soon as possible so that new branches have a maximum time to grow till winter hits.

How does the plant survive in winter, are u keeping inside a greenhouse. I am in texas and just want to know the tricks. thx.

I keep the plant outside in the garden. I don't have a green house. I don't get freezing Temps, so plant survives on its own. In winter I keep up with watering every 1 or 2 days depending on Temps. I think good watering helps it survive. Also if the top of the tree is covered that will help also. Like place it in patio, or under a big tree, or take inside the garage.

Valencia Pride is a vigorous grower i think you need to up pot it into a larger pot. 15 gal is way too small!!
