One year I went on holiday leaving lots of healthy brocolli and Kale plants etc., when I got back they were just stalkes having been chomped by caterpillars! However, I left them where they were, come spring they were fabulous healthy plants again...and very tasty, so don't give up if the caterpillars do their worst.

The weather has certainly set us gardners some challenges but you’ve done brilliantly

Hi! I am taking a moment to make sure I leave a comment To say thanks for your videos I discovered this channel this summer, I was looking for growing in containers and your idea of doing lettuces and other leaves using WASHING UP BOWL totally worked!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Best idea ever I found some on sale at my local tesco plus some in a hardware store. Some they had a plug so didn’t need to drill holes Whatever I put in them has been prolific and healthy They sit nicely next to each others and obviously didn’t use a ton of compost for plants that don’t need that much depth A million thanks Also thanks for addressing the awful growing season we had Unfortunately it’s what has transformed after much toxicity and manipulation, I think from now on we can adapt but not predict too much I get discouraged when I see plants not growing or bolting suddenly and I think is something I have done wrong Seeing others going through the same is somehow comforting Im buying more washing bowls this week to continue with more winter greens and spinach At least I can provide us with fresh greens which is essentially chlorophyll and key to our health Send you regards from Scotland Keep up the good work ❤

If at first you don't succeed try and try again don't let the weather beat you ever you will win in the end.

Pollinators have been badly affected over the winters. Few people growing flowers because of the cost of foods. Planting sunflowers gives both pollen and food, even if only people feed the birds.

Sorry to see the wind damage Ivan. It's blight in my kneck of the wood... 😭 For the low level of your tower, how about some Japanese onions to give an early crop next year? Keep up the good work 👍

Hi there love your advice for planting veg for Winter. I am just getting into growing my own veg. I am learning as I go along. Yes white butterflies have savaged my cabbages. Can you let me know where you bought your stackable planter from that rotates round please. Saves a lot of hard work and space. Cheers. Love the videos.

Hi Ivan, nice tomatoes, started mine around February, even a self seeded pot from last year the same, plenty of flowers now and some (not much) green fruit, most tiny.😢 I used nematodes for slugs, seems to work, beer traps only have babies now, going to do again tomorrow, been 5/6 weeks, retreating time. Lettuce is the only thing really going well right now, I'm going to focus on that for awhile

Good to see you back, Ivan. Hoping all is well with you and yours. Glad to see you settled in and adapting so well. I was wondering what are your thoughts regarding green houses both the pros and cons? How do you think the polycarbonate style compares to glass? I've been holding off asking as you had to give yours up. However I would appreciate your input. Best wishes to you, yours and all the rest of the green fingers tribe.

Can you believe it's September next year, flipping ek. I've got a few cabbage growing & some early half tall sprouts growing, they're actually taking off better than the other stuff lol, i noticed tiny green dots on the stems last week so the sprouts are growing yay 😊 I would love to have another go at cauliflower, what type would you recommend Ivan, cheers & as always thanks for the update...

Can I grow onions and sprouts for Christmas? Could I also grow some potatoes for Christmas too?
@ninemoonplanet4 ай бұрын
Depending on your climate and first frost date, you should be ok with onions. Other crops should be somewhat frost tolerant.

Are those winds a usual occurrence where you are now or just an odd happening this year?
@ShelleyAnderson-g9g4 ай бұрын
I think these winds are the remnants of hurricane Ernesto. Usually get them a week after hurricane hits US.
