That’s a small niche but probably bigger than mine!

I am also in zone 5b and I have found some greens to be cold hardy enough to survive most of the winter even in my tower planter (close to the house for added protection ) with a frost cover. I made the mistake of planting things too late last year in my cold frame as well. So I was grateful for the greenstalk. Great video!

That's great! We just hit 10° two days ago and the plants are doing fine, even without the ag fabric.

@@SomeRoomtoGrow that’s fantastic! It’s so much fun to be able to grow some of your own food year round.

I just built mine, and so far, they are amazing for seedlings. I have them on 2 corners of the barn, so one faces a little more south than the other... maybe I will learn something and et you know in a few years, lol😅

I cant imagine gardening in the snow!! Its so hot atm in Sydney, Australia, everything is overgrown...cant wait until Autumn..1st March..great idea with the tape & push pins though...I just planted some of my lettuce seeds from flowering plants & replanted..2days later & they have already germinated.😁

Yes, I’ve noticed that sunlight strength/duration is even more important than temperature. (Growing on a south facing slopes like cooking with gas, as I’ve discovered in the front of my house.)

Oh I’ll bet it is! I’ll have to make some adjustments for when we try again next year.

Great series, I like the info on the sun angle. I am thinking about a a hybrid construction by using some polycarbonate in the front panel.

Thanks! That’s a good idea, I would definitely do that if/when I need to build more.

Thank you for the video. Maybe use Aluminium foil in the back?
@SomeRoomtoGrow3 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! Yes, foil could work well, too. Also cheaper than Mylar film or tape.
