Here in the southern part of the U.S. I’m suddenly having problems with a chipmink eating some of my succulents down to the nub. Makes me so mad. Been growing them for 26 yrs here & never had a problem before. It’s crazy. (It’s winter now so got most covered up.So sorry you lost your husband. My daughter is 46 yrs old & she lost her husband at 49 yrs old to cancer 2 yrs ago. She’s always taking trips which helps her get thru her loneliness plus she works at a large nursery 6 days a week. Staying busy seems to help her. Your plants are what’s keeping you occupied & I feel do whatever it takes to bring you some pleasure. Everyone has to find their own way & their way to get thru loss. Baby steps. ❤

I’m relieved to hear that you will continue videos and not listen to the negative jealousy of the few. Many, like myself, get joy and inspiration from your videos. Your authentic ways in a world that demands unrealistic perfection, is welcomed and appreciated. What an amazing gift to do something you love, share it and the joy from it with others, and get some bills paid in the meantime! You have made it happen and it is lovely. ❤🎉😊

I love watching all your videos and the effort and variety and knowledge you share with us. You do u. Just njoy ur garden. Its an extremely challenging and tough phase for u and only you are the master of ur own life. Let the bitter people have an opinion which does not matter at all as they shd be busy looking after their own lives than having an opinion on everybody else’s. The rain and all the succulents enjoying the rain is therapeutic for me. Watching thousands of miles away and appreciating the garden and you as a person so much. The var othona capensis just took my breath away. Its gorgeous!!

I've heard other KZbinrs and Twitch streamers as well saying that people in your life will not understand what you do for your livelihood. I know you already know, but I'll say it again just to give the encouragement: You know what works for you! Having your work also be your passion is something we should all be so blessed to find in life! What I love about my plant collection is: there is always something to do. Always some plant needs to be cleaned up or get some fungicide on the powdery mildew spot. My echeveria serrana is only a couple months out of the 2" nursery pot and it's already flowering, and I even found my first mealy bug the other day! And you know what I did? I sprayed it with my own metho solution (which I learned from you) and plucked it out with my tweezers and smushed it on a tissue. And then I said out loud "I did it! Just like Liz!" lol!! I am autistic and so is my son. I didn't find out I was autistic until age 34, just last year for me. I've been working so hard for the past 5 years on figuring myself out and trying to take care of myself better, especially with managing overwhelm, anxiety, and burnout, which I tend to experience much more intensely than your average neurotypical person does. I already had hobbies that I would use to help my body get calm, like pet care, sewing, and knitting, but none of them compare to the tranquility I experience when I am quietly looking after some plants. It even makes our pet dog and cat want to come sit by me while I work and just sleeeep. The vibes are so calm and nice. I am a better wife to my husband, a better mother to my son now that I have this consistent outlet for settling all my nervous energy. And YOU, your channel, has been such a big inspiration to me in all this! Also, a random worry I have on your behalf: Do you ever worry that if you say you're going away on your KZbin channel, someone with bad intentions would try to locate your house on the map and raid your garden? I don't want a violation like that to happen to you! Just be careful because you are such a beautiful free spirit and I don't want anyone to take advantage of your openness! Anyway, from someone who has deep love and appreciation for hobbies in life, I agree with you 10,000%. As long as we are not hurting anyone, others shouldn't knock our hobbies. Wishing you well! Digital hugs and kisses from the other side of the world!!
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK5 күн бұрын
Thank you for your encouragement. You are so kind! It makes me so happy to hear that my channel is helping you! Thank you for sharing your inspiring story. 🤗 I've been doing KZbin video for the past 12 years. I also have another channel called LIZ KREATE, where I hunt for gold and gemstones with my husband. We've always shown videos of our adventures. That means a lot of people know that we are always away. When we're away, we always have a house sitter and really good neighbors always on the lookout for people lurking around even in the middle of the night.😉 Apart from succulents, I don't have anything in the house of value that is worth breaking in. Nowadays, the succulent prices have also gone down. Not worth stealing anymore. When I say in my videos that I'll be away.... That means, I'm still here.😉 And when I'm finally away, the house sitters are here. 😁 Thank you so much for always watching and commenting. Much appreciated. Have a great day!🥰

Thank you for your videos! I’m curious how you get those beautiful pots with the floral decorations - the square ones you show. Also, thank you for pointing out how important it is for people to respect the hobbies of others. It’s sad that many believe they only belong to society if they follow a 'norm' and go to work. Sooner or later, people will have to relearn how to enjoy life and find hobbies, as more and more jobs are being taken over by AI. AI should make our lives easier, while hobbies should bring us joy. Those who only chase money will not be happy in the long run. Greetings from Austria Stefanie

Thanks for watching and sharing your insight, Stefanie. I got the pots from a local succulent collector who got it from another collector that imported it from Vietnam for personal use. If you look online, there are many websites that now sell these type of pots. Here's one link below from Alibaba that I found for you. Happy shopping.🥰 www.alibaba.com/product-detail/MSH-New-Arrival-3D-Handmade-Vintage_1601076013135.html?spm=a2700.details.you_may_like.2.395c26aaI6RBx5

Hlo Liz Hw r u U hve beautiful succulents Pls tell me if aeoniums r summer or winter plants n do they need sunlight n the propagation time Tks God bless
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK8 күн бұрын
I find that Aeonium prefers to be grown in full sun to color up and in places with temperature not exceeding 27°C|80.6°F. Any warmer than these temperature and they will go to sleep/dormant. So as a general guide, they go dormant in summer. Propagation time is when temperature is between 10 to 25°C/50 to 77°F. Any colder or hotter than these temperature range will make them go dormant. And if temperature goes below -4°C|24.8°F, left out in the open...they will die from the frost. I hope this helps.🥰
