Fortunately, Zoey doing this was the exact thing that caused Aaron to come to his senses. He knew that he loved Zoey but he kept holding back from making a final decision because he really didn’t want to hurt Rochelle and still was wary with trusting Zoey with his heart. But her walking away from the situation all together woke him up to realizing that he has to take the risk of following his heart or else he was gonna potentially lose Zoey forever.

Absolutely spot on, we the audience and frankly Zoey knew that man loves her DEEP, but he was so scared to say it because of what happened in the past. BUT I will say, I have never seen Zoey more decisive and sure about anything than she was about how she felt about Aaron in season 3b. When sis said “make no mistake I am in love with you.” I said let it be known then Zo Zo! I am so proud of them both and how their characters are evolving.

Sidebar: for those who say Zoey is selfish or “hasn’t developed as a character”......she bowed out gracefully, accepted that she had to let this man go-a man she loves deeply-not only for herself but for him too. She knew she had to take action in order to prevent any permanent damage and didn’t want what happened between them to “force” Aaron to hurt a girl he cared about, just to placate her. She also apologized, owned up to the back and forth, plus made her feelings and where she stood very clear without making it all about her-adult decision and moment of GROWTH.

@@kirstynlynne Ijs comments are extra af when it comes to Zoey so called being selfish, annoying, etc. People seem to forget that she kept Nomi’s secret about the professor and was basically the only one who had Vivek’s back when he got jumped. Selfish tendencies and all, she’s not as shitty as some say-IMO. When she’s called out on it, she does learn from it even when the lesson is hard.

I agree she would be forced to have to accept that everything can’t go her way. At the same time Aaron didn’t deserve Rochelle. It would have been terrible for him to still be with her when he cheated since neither him nor Zoey was going to tell her the truth.

Maybe so... but I think the big takeaway and learning lesson is that she walked away from the situation. That was huge maturity coming from Zoey. Yes, she’s with him now but she finally opened her eyes of all the things she did wrong and how others (like Rochelle) were affected by her (and his) actions that she didn’t initially show remorse for. So, if realizing that enough to walk away from someone she loves will help her be more mindful in different situations in the future then I think her being with Aaron now is fine.

She realized what’s happening right now isn’t right and she knows she was selfish. She was going to punish herself by taking away the man she’s loved for 3 years. Aaron was the one who came and got his girl back. Zoey took full responsibility, apolgized, and tried to let him go.

@@aaronkenyon7112 I will try to better explain Aaron and Zoey love each other even before grownish started because Aaron was in 2 episodes in blackish but arrived at cal u Aaron played with Zoey at the beginning then at the end of season 1 he stopped and express her feelings but after that Zoey chose Luca at the end of season 1 . So Zoey and Luca dated in s2 ( but the thing is that Zoey and Aaron play with each other because they always have feelings for each other even if they are in relationship with other people they only kissed everytime but they are not together 🙃) in season 3 she is single but in 3B she make it clear that she is in love with Aaron it is at the end of season 3 that Aaron tells her «he's tired of waiting» he want to be with her now!. in season 4 they go out for the first time together in 4A since more than 6 months that they together in 4B since 1 year qu they were together and broke up because Aaron wanted to focus on his mental health etc … in season 4B when they break up Zoey realised even more that she only has feelings for Aaron not at all for Luca she doesn't see him like that she can't live without Aaron the fact that she is a friendzone Luca shows a growth on her part because she made this decision on her own, not like in the season 1 with her friends who help her to choose. it was to show the viewers that her choice is clear that she chose Aaron. Aaron matured etc they got back together in season 4 they are still together in this season 5 🙃
