This is probably one of my favorite Pixar messages. Much more beneficial for kids in rl than the cliched "follow your dreams and don't stop till you achieve them." You might dream of doing one thing, but then you grow up and have more life experiences and realize that you have a knack for something else.

I do think it makes a good follow up to the first even though it is a prequel. The main point of the movie for me is we know Mike's not going to be a scarer, but it is very clear he absolutely love his life. The lesson is just because it didn't go the way you wanted dosen't mean you're life isn't going to be amazing and fulfilling.

I’ve always preferred MU to MI. There’s an energy to MU that makes it one of those movies you can watch over and over again, and it offers a great, rare message: You can’t always achieve your dreams, but you can find a new dream and new ways to live a satisfying life.

Both are phenomenal movies with different vibes. MU can be a bit cliche but it's till a fun watch. I used to prefer it over MI but now I am not sure. MU definitely has the best ending of the whole series.

I love this movie more than Monster’s Inc because of the message that needs to be taught. No matter how much you try, you have a limit and some dreams and things are unachievable, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find an alternative which is just as good, if not better.

They never knew laughter was 10 times more powerful than screams. They just discovered that in Monsters Inc when Sully realized that when Boo Laughed, she overloaded entire blocks of electricity, heck even powering every door in the factory for minutes

I love the message of this movie. It's ok if your dreams change, people change every day. We grow, learn and sometimes we can find a better dream for ourselves. In my case, I was applying to a university for performing arts and I didn't get enough points but I've never quit on performing arts; I had to choose another career and then I discovered that I was not only better at it but I like it more. Now, I use my degree in literature to write plays and do critics.

wanted to state something everybody probably saw...the child profile for the finale of the scare games, for Sully it says lions & thunder...so, Sully stomps the floor to mimic thunder and roars to mimic a lion...incorporating both fears into a single scare

I think you kinda missed the point with Mike’s not being scary. It isn’t that he’s different, he’s disabled. Look at the movie from the POV of them taking about a disabled person, where everyone is pretty ableist and you’ll see. The OK ppl r different, they can accomplish what they want to. Mike has studied his whole life, from childhood for a single goal, and he’s confronted with the fact that he can’t overcome his disability. Something that he has no control over, that cannot be fixed or overcome, is in the way of his dreams. And everyone who told him he couldn’t do it, was right. That’s partially why this movie is great. Ppl go on and on about how being different is great. But being disabled is NOT. You can’t convince anyone who’s disabled that their disability is a good thing. Disability is different from diversity, even if there is a positive, there’s more negative to counteract it. This movie is very important for the message that you don’t have to fulfill your dreams to be fulfilled.

Universities and honestly schools in general in the states have a huge sense of school spirit and school rivalry, stealing a mascot is probably one of the most lax things I've heard of a school doing to a rival school

It’s Revenge of the Nerds but with monsters. I like it better than the first movie because of the college themes and better animation, as well as that lake scene, it was so powerful.

Thank you so much for what you say at the end of this video, you are such a great person, that you reflect on the message of this movie and give inspiration to all of us out there, just so many thanks!! I also have seen it in your other reactions, you always talk in depth after your reactions about the movies and about the message and inspiration out of it and with that you can give so much to other people and that makes your movie commentary pretty unique and valuable, you are so good in giving this motivation and I love you for that very much! it's so important to realize, that your path isn't completely clear and you described it perfectly: you don't know what awaits you at the end. And that's why I think this movie has one of the best messages ever, making it a different one than usual and adressing the harsh reality that you don't always follow the right one at the start, it's a process to figure out what you are really good at and maybe you see that you have your limits in some ways, but didn't realize your strength is somewhere else. Also I love what you say that you will need help for your dreams, you can't do it all alone and that it is important to also let others help you and that you should follow what you are passionate about even if there are obstacles. I think this is the best movie for everyone who is growing up and is in this whole stage of figuring out who he/she is like me with 23 years - thanks for your inspiration, this is your special power and gift you give to us all :)

42:37 Sulley is extremely lucky, the plan that he and Mike made to scare the rangers was very risky. Sulley is lucky that the Rangers didn’t open fire on Sulley in retort instead of being terrified and scared.

They had fallen down. They likely wouldn’t have been able to reach for the gun. The whole point was that Mike put them in a state of paranoia and anxiety as bears don’t do what Mike was doing, tripped them and made them vulnerable, and then something with the teeth and claws of a bear appeared and roared at them. No, they wouldn’t have been able to grab their guns.

To me it’s sulley and mike who made Randall who he is in monster inc. in my opinion by getting told to take off his glasses, then the cupcakes to say lame on his face and after sulley got him to fall onto the hearts and that’s when he says “that’s the last time I lose to you Sullivan”. He was nice before he meet them and worse after I’ll just say

No. Sulley and Mike didn’t bully Randall. They didn’t abuse him in any way. Randall made his choices, and while a lot of the stuff they did inadvertently effected him, it’s ridiculous to blame them for what he turned into. This was freshman year. Sullivan LEFT and didn’t take Randall’s spot in the fraternity. There was significantly more than three years before they’d even reconnect on that scare floor. Randall didn’t change in that time, he got worse. You can’t blame a couple of ppl you met a few times in your first year of college for the drastic personality change from young adult to adult. That is just scapegoating poor personality onto others and blaming them for your mistakes. It’s up to him to bounce back, just like Mike and Sulley did. I know you’re just a kid, but don’t spend your life blaming others for who you are.

They actually tried to start out the movie with them in fourth grade. Unfortunately, it messed up the pacing of the story. So the Pixar team jokes that the phrase "you've been jealous of my good looks since the 4th grade" is just a figure of speech in the monster world.
