We overlook the fact that more people can afford to buy chappels. I am in Ludhiana in cycle business. Cycle market is shrinking not because people can't afford it. It's because people are switching to motorbikes.

Everything Saurabh has ever said used to make perfect sense except his definition and take on momentum investing. Those who had to do momentum on yes bank would have exited at the right time on the way down thereby preserving their profits and not bled to death and lost everything. Neeraj made valid points on momentum not being emotional investing and also on the CAGR comparison. Also Saurabh kept reiterating "jo log momentum ke naam pe uchalte hai" which he should not have considering the fact that there are renowned peers who are proponents of momentum. To each his own and it's for us to cumulate and extract the best.

I dont agree with the Yes Bank example, when the momentum investor will see that the momentum is dying off in the stock price, he/she will sell as per his/her predefined system and will not wait for complete collapse. I think that's the whole point of momentum investing someone please correct me if I misunderstood it

Always wait for a greater fall and then buy. i give u an example, now this time if your buying price of divis lab is between 3250 - 3300 then u will make money in next 2.5 years.

Actually Niraj should add another points when Saurabh referred momentum investing as emotional investing. Momentum traders don't behave like investor so they don't have to hold the stocks forever rather, they would sell at either life time high or based on technical indicators. Usually, I have seen, every funds manager hype their own strategy and underestimate others and they do this smartly with good reference of very selective examples of stocks to prove their points. For me, performance is the key to measure any fund managers or stocks. I know people doing momentum investing/ Positional investing and various other format have made more than 25% CAGR in their portfolio consistently. Which is more than any fund managers return. I understand, fund manager has huge volume of funds and they like to play very safe and conventional so they always ask Investors to trim down their return expectation to 15-20% but never reveal hidden intention behind it. One things is very clear, Individual investor can beat any fund manager with just positional trade in good fundamental stocks.

Well said Ritesh. Saurabh is hiding that he has a huge amount with him, so it isn't easy for him to enter or exit any stock. That is why momentum/position investing isn't possible for him due to the size of the cash he holds. But retail investors can do that and can easily make a good CAGR.

I do the same like you. I was huge fan of Saurabh and still I am. He talks very well and sounds logical. But you can't make money by just listening to him. HIs portfolio itself has given returns of 15-20% CAGR. I would advise, join some good course. If your schedule permits then learn the art of fundamental and technical analysis for good stock selection. You should build your own strategy that suits you and work better with your funds. Believe me, you won't make return by following Saurabh or any other person.

Saurabh is very knowledgeable. But probably he understand tech less as such his advice on Divis lab, tarson, lal etc going to be wrong in my view. The had tail wind of covid and due to covid hundreds of competition came and onward have to face head wind (unequal competition with low margin companies). sply none of them produce any unique products. I m with extreme involvement on biotech and specifically covid i just alerting, not opposing. There may be many good stocks to invest in sply top ITs (TCS, infy, Wipro, tech Mahindra, HCl)going to give big return 2023 onward.

Very disappointed with saurabh in this interview…there are many investment strategies that different investors follow and each approach works for ones who do it whole heartedly be it momentum/growth/valuation/buy and hold/buy low sell high and even trading…not agreeing is fine but mocking different styles is what is not expected from someone like him…and what kind of stupid example was of yes bank for condemning momentum…sounded like he doesnt even know how momentum investment is done…Neeraj has done other interviews of momentum investors and thats what now saurabh is trying to say

May be he is talking about average figures from 2-4 quarters. Screener is showing exact numbers from latest quarterly result. No issues as such if companies we are discussing/following are Bluechips/cream class. We should take the POVs from them and numbers should be checked by ourself only.

In momentum investing, we put stop loss for not loosing the gains. In Yes bank example if momentum investors would have put stop loss they would not have not lost the gains. I like Saurabh’s theories but don’t seem to understand this!

Any one who followed Saurabh M has lost the wealth He is highly overrated FM, missed two bluechip such as Icici Bank and ITC. His stocks as as Relaxo, Alkyl Amine, Asian paint have not done well Marcellus is below benchmark in all PMS

Saurabh is amazing. But his understanding of momentum investing is not good. The example of Yes Bank: Momentum investor would have made 10-20% returns in short time and moved onto next stock. No momentum investor sits on a stock for more than 4-6 months so the scenario of crying over lost gains of 10 years in 3-4 months is quite far from reality for a momentum investor. Saurabh's style of investing works best when he hold stocks for longer term so he couldn't grasp the concept of momentum investing properly.

Small scale industry in India are job crwators and all are not tax evaders. If small Industry closes job creation suffers. Same thing happening now. You said job are being created but in reality job are not created nd maximum young guys in rural India are in agriculture.
