Will - Great video. Quick question: Once I get my list of keywords (east to rank for), what do you think is a good percentage I should use to guess the volume percent I will actually get? for example, if my total keywords have total traffic of 100,000, I'm not going to get 100,000 to my website. I'm probably only going to rank for a small oercentage of that. Assuming I pick the right keywords for my website, what's a good guess on the percentage I will actually get, 10%, 20%. of that total. Maybe less or more? My ultimate goal is to reverse engineer the process to figure out how many actual visits I will get. For example, if I make 100 posts that have a total volume of 100,000, I might only rank on page 1 for 20%. Out of that 20%, I might get 50% to click, which results in a certain number of actual visitors to my website. Hope that makes sense, lol. Thanks
@GrowWithWill2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does. Typically, you'll want to use 29% for the first result, 16% for the second and 11% for the third result. 4th is typically around 8% and 5th at 7%

Hey mate thx a lot for the knowledge. I'd like to ask you a question. I'm a bilingual and I've found a niche that has a 58% keyword difficulty and 300k volume in the US alone! This very same niche tho in Italy has a 28% keyword difficulty but only a 18k volume. Do you reckon I should write my website in Italian or in English? Should I aim for that massive volume or that low competition? I'd really appreciate if you could give me a tip here :). Subscribed!
@GrowWithWill3 жыл бұрын
I'd probably go the low competition first. Massive volume means nothing if you don't have the domain authority to rank.

Hey Will, I love your easily digestible content, I subscribed. I had a question though if you'd oblige: When I use MOZ on Google to show me the DA and PA difficulty, I often see lower DA's and PA's that are higher (sometimes the top) of page 1. Could you tell me why that is?
@GrowWithWill2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, sorry about the delay - your comment fell into spam. It really depends -- there are a number of factors that can influence ranking; generally DA and PA is a good start, but Google is known for testing variants all the time so it's not just a descending list of high DA all the time depending on the niche.
@savannahhouse72893 жыл бұрын
Wow, loved this! Super helpful. I'm wondering what your thoughts are for branded keywords. For example, if I typically rank for keywords that include my product name, should I use the product name as the basis for what I input into the Keyword Magic Tool, or something more long tail that describes the product?
@GrowWithWill3 жыл бұрын
Both! Branded keywords are great to own. As are the keywords that describe your product (longtails). I'd target both, and make sure that your competitors aren't putting paid placements on your branded keywords.

Keywords Everywhere is a good cheaper alternative. It won't be as extensive though in terms of functionality. There are also SEMRush competitors like UberSuggest, but you have to connect directly to get true access to the platform (which is what I don't like about them).

KD in the 70s is hardly low competition. 70-84 = Hard. Even stiffer competition. These keywords will demand more effort in terms of getting higher authority referring domains in order to rank your well-optimized and helpful content among the top pages.
@GrowWithWill2 жыл бұрын
They changed the KD scores from the time this video was made. That said, I'd say your mileage varies depending on your core domain authority. I've worked with several DA 50+ so it's easier to rank a 70 or so than if you're a DA 10 trying to do the same thing.
