I'm 100% more supportive of this matchup now that Despicable Me 4 and unfortunately Megamind Rules has been released they have everything that they could. I'm still excited for Wile E. Coyote Vs Tom Cat but someday this matchup will get the spotlight it deserves

The connection between Gru and Megamind is they're both highly intelligent, dark-clad, bald anti-heroes from 2010 movies where they are supervillains with an unfortunate past of neglect and ridicule which made them turn to a life of crime at a young age. Both were taught by other supervillains (Gru was mentored by Wild Knuckles, the leader of the Vicious 6, while Megamind was a student of Machiavillain, the world’s greatest villain) and went on to invent various gadgets to commit crime while occasionally having help from their assistants (Dr. Nefario and Ol' Chum) as well as formed an army of small minions (the Minions and the Brainbots). Both planned their greatest scheme using a laser weapon which they relatively achieved (Gru planned to steal the Moon using a Shrink Ray, while Megamind planned to destroy Metro Man using a Death Ray), but had a change of heart after connecting with certain girls that they were willing to save from younger, but more ruthless orange-and-white-clad villains (Margo, Edith, and Agnes for Gru since he is now their adopted father and was willing to save them from Vector, and Roxanne for Megamind since he had feelings for her and was willing to save her from Tighten). Both also have a love-interest (Lucy Wilde and Roxanne Ritchi) who they saved from a caped supervillain empowered by an experimental serum (El Macho and Tighten) and have lawful occupations (Lucy is an agent of the AVL, while Roxanne is the mayor of Metro City). Both would abandon their villainous careers and take up heroic occupations (Gru became an agent of the AVL, while Megamind became the new defender of Metro City). Both also have a letter from their names as their respective emblems which they have embossed on their clothing and vehicles. Additionally, both admired and defeated a group of villains (Gru idolized the Vicious 6, while Megamind is a former member of the Doom Syndicate). Both also defeated purple-clad, disco-themed villains who like to dance (Balthazar Brat and Psycho Delic), and have faced-off against allies who were turned into purple-colored enemies after a villain infused them with something (the Minions were mutated into Evil Minions after being injected with the PX-41 serum by El Macho, while Roxanne was brainwashed to be a villain after being given the powers of the Doom Syndicate by Machiavillain).

They probably might include that info, but they might do it like Wiz & Boomstick don't want to talk about those, but they have to in order for the rundown to be up-to-date.

Honestly it's best if they just add the weapons and feats from there instead of the plot of either.
