I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding for how Azir should work. You're basically a Magic Damage based ADC with more steps. Q - Reposition soldiers W - Declare Areas of influence for your attacks E - Reposition R - "Get off me" The Faker Initiation is honestly kind of a trap that a lot of players fall into thinking its the "Correct" way to play, but if you step back and think about what you're doing, Azir is one of the highest sustain DPS characters in the game who scales into a late game monster, you're squishy with extremely limited mobility or CC, and you're launching yourself into the enemy team after spending all of your resources. In 90% of cases, you're suiciding to act as an initiation for your team. In that game specifically, you had Malphite, Ekko and Bard who all have ways to start fights. There's no reason to ever throw yourself into danger to try and "start something" Instead of trying for that play, if you focused on playing from a backline position, saving your E and R to stay safe, and repositioning soldiers to stay on the front line you would've have so much more influence in fights. That's not to say its wrong to do the faker combo, it can be extremely powerful in the right circumstance, but I really would stress it shouldn't be your first thought. You're sacrificing all of what your character excels at for a hail marry play that will likely get you killed, and the question should be, is this play going to influence the fight more in my teams favor then if I just stayed alive and provided DPS and left my options open to use those abilities later in the fight. You can always do that combo later on in the fight when a lot more resources are spent and your teams on the back foot to save lives, or trap enemies, or peel for your carry if they're in trouble.

this is for the dota players in twitch chat that was unimpressed and didnt understand the hype behind fakers play, let me give you some context to the fight. T1 was behind 4 k gold and JDG were looking to start siege T1s base with baron buff, JDG was ahead of T1 before this fight, so for T1 to hold on and find a window to win, they had to go for a play. the reason why he only ulted a single target was to take down the highest priority target on JDG, which in this game is ruler (varus) their AD carry. Faker manages to catch him out of position and comes straight out of nowhere, predicts the flash from ruler and pins him straight into oners (rell) magnet storm. just because it was a one man ulti doesnt make it a mediocre play, he did everything right in the situation he was in. this was one of the best plays of the tournament! Loving the lol content grubby!

Idt ruler was even that poorly positioned, ashe was keeping faker in check, but all it took was a split second for faker to catch ruler. Also, idt most people get why azir is so complex and difficult. People see his Q, E and ult and think that's all there is, but I'd say most of his skill comes from W and soldier placement. No offense, but that Zed was baaaad. Like really bad. Idt he did a single combo right and yet Grubby died to him 4 times. Not only that, but Zed is a winning matchup for Azir. Im not trying to criticize Grubby in any way, what I am saying is that it could of been prevented with good soldier placement, and shows how important it is. Im glad that Grubby was able to do Azir's combos, but he failed to see that Azir is mostly about W placement.

@@cap-ml7ky yeah rulers positioning wasnt that bad at all, fakers engage kind of just came out if nowhere didnt it? My personal opinion is that an ashe support isn’t enough to keep the azir from engaging, i mean what can ashe do other than poke with w and auto attack to slow him down, that doesn’t disable azir from engaging! It's interesting to see how Grubby deals with the same thing new Azir players deal with, specifically: learning how to auto with the soldiers. People get super confused about that and you feel like you can't auto normally (because you can't). It totally changes the game. That said, it's pretty much the only "unique" mechanic about his kit, even though it's a big one, Grubby picked up the other mechs like comboing with shuffle extremely quick and even used it on that Yone. Super impressive for a first game and when he gets the soldiers down, I imagine it will be much better.

Its about how difficult it is to pilot them effectively and snappily in a very quick tempo game where everyone moves and acts quickly and snappily. I'm kind of sad twitch chat did not chose Aphelios, his kit is a fun puzzle to solve. Azir though is definetely still interesting, in that, similarly to Kalista, Azir sees and has seen a LOT of consistent competitive play but has a very low pick rate in ranked. So perhaps in a way, Aphelios is more complex to 100% master, but Azir is a lot more punishing if played poorly so the skill curve required to learn him is a lot steeper. Aphelios you can sort of wing in the first few games even if you don't fully understand what you're doing x) Azir tho... you end up going 0/0/12 or smth lol. (I did)

T1 are losing this game and yet Faker able to catch Ruler (ADC) from bottom corner and he predicted his Flash. Since their ADC is gone, they have less damage now, JDG forced to fight and tried to kill T1's ADC but they failed and they lose the match. Nice to see you're so determined to play LoL even in Dota camp xD Remake occures when some player failed to log in match. The rest of his team may type /remake command in chat after 2 minutes ingame and then remake vote occur. If at least one player agrees with vote, match ends with no cosequences for anyone exept for leaver. No rank point are gained or lost, no account exp granted, etc, like it never happened. Minion aggro works pretty simple in general - minions defend champions. Minions will attack you if you land direct hit against enemy champion while you being in some radius around minions, by autoattack or targetable spell, with some exeptions. To reset that aggro you supposed to run away from minions a bit. Thats worth get familiar with in practice tool, coz thats very easy to lose half HP in exchange of 2 autos in early game. And you can bait opponent below gold level to do so too -)

About the conversation "who's the most difficult champ": I don't think that an objectively MOST difficult champ exists, however, there is a large variety of champs that are considerated "mechanically difficult" that rely on your ability to outplay the opponent in order o get ahead in the game (while going even would mean that you become useless in most cases). Depending on the position that most interests you I would be down to give some suggestions if that's what you're looking for. @grubby
@Miziru
@Miziru 10 ай бұрын
thing about azir is his kit is unique, other difficult champs especially with the same generic mobility like kata, irelia, or yas that feels the same. so if u mastered yas for example and want to try irelia, mastering her wont be as hard as u will play her for the first time, since her kit is pretty similar with other high-mobility champs, so u will know when to use those dashes/blink/etc., at the right time, since those are their signature moves.
@marcoderry9349
@marcoderry9349 10 ай бұрын
@@Miziru Exactly, therefore starting with one that is unique to the point where you can't really translate any skill you learn to other champs is counterproductive to a new player. Irelia is good for new players because you learn how to auto reset very well and how to handle the dashes. She can't really do much else. Azir is the opposite

He's got a long range teleport (not global like Nature's Prophet) as his ult that also reveals enemies sort of like Zeus' ultimate from Dota. The coolest thing about his kit is that his W is a spell that depending on your choice can do three different things: It'll either hit with large damage and give you back some mana (blue card), he'll do moderate damage and do area of effect splash damage (red card) or it'll do low damage but be a unit-target stun via right-click (gold card). 27:40 You asked if you should push out or just let the denies happen. In League generally (specially on mid with a champ who has a good clear) the answer is to push out UNLESS there is more ranged minions on the enemies side. Mid lane at a high level is basically a game where you're playing the wave and trying to create situations where you can freeze. But if your turret tags the enemy melees like here and you have your wave coming faster than the enemies , they probably won't lose a single cs. In this situation if you pushed out right away you would've had what we call "prio (priority)" in league, so you'd have the first move to be able to ward a bit deeper into the enemy jungle, help your jungler, hover for a bot gank (since there is no wave for at least 30 seconds on mid) or harass Zed under tower if you know where Lee is. It's hard to figure out, but it's great that you're asking that question so early into your lol journey, hope this came across helpful!

Minion aggro in league is on any autoattack or targeted ability. Skillshots and aoes don't aggro unless they count as an autoattack like Ezreal Q. Aggro resets automatically after a few seconds of not attacking or if you break line of sight. Turrets work differently, which you probably already realized, any damage to enemies under turret will aggro the turret until you move out of its range, including damage over time effects. The Scorch rune in particular deals extra delayed damage which is a leading cause of taking stray turret aggro when you don't think about it.

That first ult combo to knock Zed into the turret was pretty well done. Most players ult in the wrong direction because they press R in the button combo before their cursor gets into the right position lol. Also, people in League tend to conflate champion complexity with mechanical difficulty. Azir is a difficult champion to master, but he's not "Complex." Aphelios is probably one of the only champions in the game that is legitimately "Complex."

Azir standing on top of Zed's shadow like he's accepting his fate lol. I think Azir is a steep increase in difficulty compared to previously played champions. Sand Soldiers don't automatically attack nearby targets meaning they don't work like a sentry as they only serve as an extension of Azir's basic attack. Placement is the key, too many times the soldiers would placed near the enemy champion and expecting a poke rather than in the middle of enemy minion wave. Learning to weave attack on move while maintaining within the range of the soldier. The dash is a two-way tool to engage or to escape, but often time Grubby would throw himself in the enemy line, catching the enemy skill shot even. It's good that Grubby watched World's Azir play, but that play is high risk. But now that Grubby saw it, he instinctively try to do the same and throw himself in the enemy line. Here's a plan. Whenever Grubby lose in a lane matchup (Jungle included), he'd play the enemy champion in the next game (unless it's a previously played champ). Often times Grubby is screwed by not knowing what the enemy can and able to do. In normal matchup, Zed would never stand a chance against Azir since he'll be constantly shoved away from the minion wave, and he can't trade evenly since he's melee and his engage kit is limited to his shadow. Zed looked strong in this game but a recent reveal from a Riot dev that Zed is being kept weak intentionally because he's a frustrating champ to deal with in low elo. In this case, Grubby didn't understand what Zed and his shadow is able to do leading to a lost lane. Anyways, keep it up. You are learning little by little. The intricacies of a champ can only be learned upon constant playing.

Practice positioning W better, in your melee wave, in spots to zone off enemy movement/escape. Poke enemy with Q, and AA after Q as long as they are in your Soldier's range. That's the only thing you should be thinking about learning Azir. Avoid tunnel vision e.g. moving to far forward or blindly moving into bad positions to try and do damage. Your damage is based off items and speed, thats why his last hits suck early game and without items your speed is slow. Very important to remember basics "Azir is a "scaling champ," and play accordingly. Forget trying to pull of "Azir combos" for at least 5-10 games. You pulled it off after this timestamp, which was impressive, but it was extremely lucky as well. Good game as usual tho. 29:28 very good example of when to use R. When enemy is out of position, they're to close to your tower, and their dash/escape is on cool down.

@@zebedeesummers4413it's not. Damage accumulated over time leads them to the enemy's kill range so it's necessary not to take too much damage in lane even with the presence of recovery items. Sand soldiers can be put in the middle of the enemy minion wave for fast clear, while also fending off any attempts of a melee champ to hit autos on ally minion wave. It's a good practice in lane to poke enemy in their last hits because they can't fight back. It's also not a good lane comparison with other games such as Dota as they have couriers to keep them stay in the lane by fetching recovery items, while there's no such thing as poke punish because creep denying is active.

Zed is trying to gap close onto you or cast an image in range of you, to slow you, with E and hit you with his Q. If your standing still during his ultimate and you get hit by 3 versions of zed's E and Q before his ultimate explodes, he's going to 100-0 you, depending on his level lead/ items/ farm etc. zed's kit.. Q - Throw shuriken W1 - Mirrors Image W2- Switch position with Mirror Image E - AoE Melee Slow R1 Mirror Images + starts a ticking bomb (all dmg he does before the bomb explodes is added to bomb dmg) R2 Switch position with Mirror Image In a nut shell, don't stand still during Zed R

Oh cool my main. I have played many hours of this champ. I am not amazing at league but this champ took me 60+ games to stop absolutly initing on him. Cant wait to see your reaction to him. Edit: Wow you got very unlucky playing Zed your first game. Zed and heavy poke champs like Oriana are by far the hardest matchups for Azir. While I don't see you playing much more of him I am supprised your chat didnt say Azir is a scaling champ. His early game is very weak and if you spam q he has mana issues till you get lost chapter first back. After that balancing spam poking with q and getting as many minions as possible is priority. Your not exacly aiming to kill but to poke the enemy down to pacify the lane. If the enemy takes a bad trade it becomes a very difficult game for them. Kills are possible when you either ult them back to your tower or when they disrespect you enough to take multiple bad trades and get low although this is very rare against his poor matchups. Also chat showing that Faker clip was int because it made you think he was an exclusive play maker. While he can make some insane plays his primary role is acting as area denial and an adc that happens to go mid. He is likely the best champ in the game for playing front to back fights in the late game so a lot of the time just staying alive and hitting is better than going in. GGs, always glad to see more Azir games.

for your ward question you dont ward early in game wards stay for a certain amount of time and junglers 90% of the time has to do 3 to 6 camp clear before ganking at that time you ward will be out of time you look for the put ward down around minute 3 to 4 where do you will put something you will learn in time you put down ward depends on enemy junglers route

Azir is a champion that can get absolutely rolled if you cannot space properly. Thats what makes him so difficult because in the right hands they will use the soldiers to AA without getting hit in return. If your spacing is bad you will feel like the champion is so fragile.

Grubby instantly getting complex aspects of the game like the 50% rule of walls and anticipating a timed flash of varus. Really makes me think he could get really high rank in most any game (Atleast top downs :P) And I don't mean the point that he gets it (most players get it through experience with the game or video's), I mean the speed as an inexperienced League player at which he gets it.

Azir is easy to play but hard to master contrary to what people kept on telling you. Mastery and playing the champ is 2 diff thing. Stop trying to shuffle enemy backwards every time , it usually only worth it when the wave is in your tower and enemy is hovering your tower with no flash or escape or you're in a teamfight and everyone is waiting for your shuffle initiation. Otherwise you use it defensively to get assassins tanks and fighters off your ass. Also try to place a soldier in between the range and the melee enemy minions all the time , it zones enemy away from hiding behind their waves , creating more opportunity for your teammate to gank , it essentially allows you to poke them if they're a melee mid trying to cs , and it also allows you to creep all cs in the wave without cleaving all of them and unintentionally hard shoving the wave. Azir is not an all-in champion early game and you shouldn't be playing him that way , play cautiously and always have 1 soldier on standby for your E to get out of a gank. Azir should always punish melee/short range midlaners for trying to creep. Max Q to W , buy nashor tooth/zhonya 2nd depends on whether you're winning or losing. Tbh in this match that you played against Zed , couldve just went nashor seeing how poorly the zed is playing. Am i the only 1 here that feels that theres so much Azir d1ckriding just because Faker did a goated play on the champ and now everyone is making it seems like Azir needs 200 IQ to play or smth? I still couldn't understand how people consider a champ like this is hard. Hes basically the safest midlaner next to Ahri.

He's not mechanically hard, but APM intense hard. He can't even squeeze damage out of the Sand Soldiers without sitting like a pigeon (get it?). If the enemy decides to tank the damage and trade with him and he decides to not weave then he's toast.

On the topic of minion aggro: If you use an ability and hit ONLY the enemy champ, you get minion aggro IF the minions are in range. If you use an ability and hit the enemy champ AND minions either simultaneously or the minions first, then you DON'T get minion aggro even if minions are obviously in range Obviously if you hit champ outside minion aggro range, then you don't get aggro at all in the first place

Azir is difficult to pick up you always have to have an understanding of both you and your soldiers. Otherwise they are standing there not attacking. His combos are relatively straight forward but require really good execution to actually do anything. Also champs like Zed can just use their own teleports to close the distance and make your R useless, pretty good counter to Azir honestly. Unlucky

Excellent micro for power plays but poor overall laning phase. The biggest mistake was constantly being full mana, you should basically spam Q to secure cs and to keep Zed away from your minions.

Another thing: This lane is about hurting him enough pre-6 to the point you can win a duel when he all-ins you after 6, and he almost always will try to do that and one of you dies at level 6-8.

Exactly, Even GP has more complicated kit than zed. hitting those sollarbacca like barrels is hard to pull off if you don't play him enough
@tudornaconecinii3609
@tudornaconecinii3609 10 ай бұрын
@@MatmatNV The hard part about gp is that you have a limited number of barrels, enemies can clear your barrels, and you have basically no range except with your barrel combos, making you overall very hard to teamfight with. He is *relatively* braindead to 1v1/lane with though, and if you crush lane hard enough it's better to stay on the split than to group with your team anyway. I'd say someone becomes competent at that in only 30 gp games.

With enough experience, No matter what champ and role (except bot) As long as you know its good match up and get ahead early, then Its better to rush boots first item so you can roam to other lanes /sometimes enemy jungle and go back to your lane faster. For adc/bot lane, Your basic rotation is to always push tower one by one each lane ( tier 1 bot to tier 1 mid etc.) If enemy push faster, you can stay bot if you have another range ally or mirror them in other lanes they switched to, to prevent them from pushing faster w/ their range advantage. You'll notice as you go higher rank, bot lane switch to mid if they get ahead since mid is an easier lane to push. Sometimes to top if top ally push faster. If your whole team is ahead, 1-3-1 is common push strat Top - SuppJglBot - Mid Or 4- 1 SupJglBotMid - Top w/TP to regroup.
