We rematch ToD again on Terenas Stand (previous game: [kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5Ozq5mvq7Bor7M&t]). He said I got lucky items last time (Pendant of Energy), though he did admit it was a well played game. This time, my items are a lot worse (Invulnerability, Cloak, STR +3, Periapt of Vitality). They almost couldn't be worse. Yet we still got a pretty decent game I dare say.

Damn, this battle could make a whole movie about a civil war in the alliance. The Knights outnumered holding the bridge so Grubby can destroy the expo, the forced retreat on Todd's base siege, the mana and flake strike duel on the bloodmages and many other stuff looks so epic

Awesome game. I think If tod had gone caster build after he saw blood mage instead of Knights vs knights, game would have been very different, since he had the advantage of magic rege to spam slow and grubby advantage was aoe spells Just perfecto against Knights. Overall grubby did a way better game by super micromanaging everywhere.

All jokes and drama aside, the HU mirror is not in a v. good state right now. Terenas is a pretty large map that permits some alternatives to mass breaker wars, but 85% of my HU mirrors always end up on whoever starts T3 gets rekt by a sea of breakers and caster/rifles... If 'Sundering Blades' was available on T2, but apply to Footmen what do you guys think? Would help?

​@@TheWayOfBlorp This strat allowed me to get wins out of less skilled players thus far, but with MK's Clap, AM's Blizzard and magic damage from casters meke Footies melt like wet paper, while Breakers take 0 damage from all above. Good HU will scout and deny/delay your Workshop while investing into Breakers waiting for you to start T3 and then hit you with 65-70 supply army that's invulnerable to magic, while smashing your Footies with spells...

beatiful high-skilled game. both deserved to win. Grubby messed up position on several Flamestrikes, but had more anti-economic ideas. Generally, Gruby micro is much better, but Tod showed really cool game also. Thank you guys!

Wow, that game was really down to the wire, all the way to single digit seconds from the end. My thoughts on units being able to use certain items (since somebody in the chat asked near the beginning): Make a small subset of them be able to use a very limited set of thematically related items of not very high level. For instance: Human: Priests can use Scroll of Regeneration; Night Elf: Sentinel Owl becomes an Ancient of Wonders item, and Huntresses can use it; Orc: Witch Doctors can use Healing Salve; Undead: Necromancers can use Ritual Dagger.

Why Grubby Won and ToD lost : 1. ToD rarely used his flame-strike vs caster line. 2. ToD's mortas didnt focus casters / ranged units 3. didnt realize to use zeppelin, for killing workers with knights 4. ToD had overall more casulties, used less Staff of Sanctuary 5. ToD had Sorcs, but never used invis in order to save units, or to attack enemys economy 6. He always targeted knights 7. ToD shuld have bought Tome of Retraining to get blizzard instead of Water Elemental 8. He should have protect his expos better .... Grubby played overall > than ToD

Most of this problems are based of Tod's lack of micro ability. He is a great player with a lot of experience and macro knowledge, but lacks on micro, so he can't do (or rarely use) almost the 70% of the things that you mentioned.

I disagree /nearly all of your points. Not only are they pretty inaccurate but you can point many times where Grubby did the same. IMO he makes three very costly mistake - the AM loss and once he manages to come back from it and get G to run away from that Tower attack, losing his 2nd expo was terribly costly. Then finally the BM loss. Of course all of those weren't accident. Grubby is especially lethal with MK agression, had the two mortars needed for the TH kill and again his constant pressure on catching ToD's heroes paid off a second time. Simply put, Grubby played extremely well.

The Backline units werd the crucial Ones, which tod did not Target. Of course grubby isnt perfect. I just said what grubby did better than tod. It is just an opinion with many agreeing

@@muratkaradag3703 I have seen both ToD and Grubby many times deliberately avoid sticking to that, I assume bc it means once the targeted move your own backline try to follow and gets exposed/inefficient. From what I understand the real focus is to create a loss gap, you kill 1 1 lose 1 kill 1 lose 1 kill 11 lose 1 kill 1 1 1 lose 1. Keep in mind the knights are the heavy dmg units, not just the tank. If you're left /w 3K vs zero you're in a good spot for Hero kills or at least winning the ground and whatever you make of it.

i don't understand why ToD says, LITERALLY, that he does not like Grubby's attitude. At least on stream Grubby is polite and affable. Can't say what he is like in person but I think ToD is only speaking of mostly his recent interactions with Grubby online so I think he ToD has a poor case with disliking Grubby's attitude. I won't try and understand ToD's POV on his relationship with Grubby. In other news, amazing game. ToD blamed early game AM deaths to the downfall of the entire game. My opinion is ToD should've had more casters since he has AM with brilliance aura and casters benefit most from it. Also he should've had MK instead of Bloodmage. That's just my opinion.

TBH I thought the feud between them was based on something terrible but over time it really starts to look as if it took them an amazing time to realize they're very different people. Politeness and positivity are paramount to Grubby where ToD wants emotion to run high. On the plus side, you always know exactly what ToD think and if you can cope with the comments on game balance leaning to bad faith occasionally and don't assault him, he's polite in his way and will not annoy you either. Grubby alluded to the fact that as a younger self he was a d*ck and deliberately trolling people bc he thought it was helping in the competition until he watched a Federer interview. Maybe their friendships started in 4K as 2 insecure young men bonding on being provocative and snarky then as they evolved ToD represented something Grubby needed to get away from?

Very seldom do we see Level 3 Devotion Aura, though it was a good choice. Lvl 3 Devotion Aura + Inner Fire + Armour upgrades made for some very tanky knights. And in a knight vs knight situation that extra armour gave Grubby's knights the advantage they needed over ToD's.

Knights are so bland in these game... no wonder Blizz gave them another upgrade. Still boring units though. Why not a jousting ability that boosts speed but limits turn rate and dazes target upon impact? Could be balanced with a “fatigued” debuff to prevent it from simply being used to charge around the map.

ToD typically won more overall their encounters as long as it wasn't vs Grubby's orc which he very rarely beats. in the last weeks though Grubby had a significant improvement in his Hu and Ud games. It must also be said that ToD seems to be focusing more and more on poker - he's gone for 2 weeks on a poker event just today after another one this month. Not sure but he seems to have made decent gain there. This months Grubby probably played more as Hu than ToD overall. In all cases it must be stressed out that Grubby is likely the person who plays the most in EU with Happy - hence he should be expected to be stellar. Still, beating twice ToD in Hu mirror is no small feat.

On twitch out of the last ~15 none Orc games he played vs Tod I only recall Grubby winning once (as nightelf, I never saw the game he posted here today). Tho I suspect his Grubby record is much better then this, those just happen to be the games ive seen. He goes out of his way to post wins on KZbin and not loses (which has he admitted to doing many times on twitch for various obvious reasons.)

@@skyz3ra Actually it did happen a few month ago. Not only that but ToD also posted a loss against Grubby recently - Grubby very rarely post loss and ToD AFAICT it was the only time. You have to understand though that those guys aren't trying to hide their loss. They're bloody streamers. Go on twitch and see them lose every day. When posting on youtube, they just seek interesting content. People like to see wins, so they mostly post those.

Grubby has uploaded several losses to ToD. Off the top of my head, I think one is titled "A mighty Blizzard". There was pressure on ToD from commenters because he never ever uploaded a loss to Grubby until just recently. If you count the number of loss uploads between the two, you'll see the Grubby has uploaded more. But at this point, who really cares? They've both uploaded losses to each other. I give ToD some credit for that recent upload, and I think he's making great strides to improve his demeanor. I hope people lay off him with all the "salty" comments if they see he's making an effort.
