People will sleep on this.. but as a lucky to be there player(I wasn’t football, baseball) if you went to a team and instantly didn’t get a long with the coach. Maybe they butted heads or had some animosity to each other.. that can cause a player to spiral and lose what they learned before. Especially if they’re not used to it. Now I think Mariotta will become again what he was, and be great. This might not age well, but I can see him enjoying Vegas, closer to home, and turn it around. I’m rooting for Marcus

People say he doesn't know NFL progressions, that bubble y over is basically Y cross flood that most NFL teams run. Whether he can actually progress through all five options in reality and not predetermine or get fixed on one guy is a different matter, but at least on paper those are NFL style progressions. Plus he had a protection audible and a hot read, all also higher level stuff.

In the NFL , you have 1 second to read the defence maximum 2 , there is no time for progressions. The READ is the defenseive player moves at the snap....and they way to do it is by reading three diffenders at the same time...that's why you need QB vision....you have to have an algo in your head for the different combinations you see in defensive player movement at the snap...progressions is for madden easy skill.

Well he is doing that. the 1A/1B bubble to go read is reacting to the flat defender, like in a curl/flat concept. Teams still do some full field or half field progressions in the old style, as well as keying off defender movement, going off match-ups, or particular defensive structures etc. A whole lot of stuff. Dilemmaps3 I've been scratching my head at the Philadelphia organization with kelly at the helm. The front office and ownership is projecting an unconditional commitment to kelly and his football philosophies and it makes zero sense to me. Stl is not going to be prime territory for foles who now gets to play az sea and sf twice a year each in the NFC West. He won't have the same success he had in philly vs those defensive players. Sf will be weak this year but still a solid team though.
