Great overview. Thanks to David, Scott and the gang at Fletchair! Certainly shows you why you should take your Grumman to highly experienced Grumman savvy shop.

David's mom, Maybelle Fletcher, gave me my Private Pilot check ride on my birthday in 1992. I also got instruction from his dad, Larry, on occasion. I thoroughly enjoyed all my flight time with Fletcher Aviation which was based at Hobby Airport in Houston. They had numerous Cheetahs and a couple of Tigers, as well as a Cougar twin. I sure miss those days. My favorite was N9960U which we affectionately called six-oscar-ugly because it had a camo paint scheme with cat eyes and whiskers on the nose. I have a picture of that plane in my logbook.

I got my PPL at Fletchair at Hobby in 2001. Checkride in 9960U! I loved getting my primary training at Class B. No flap carrier landings to get between the 737s. Great experience. I left my shirt tail in a display on the wall when I left. I wonder if it’s in a box somewhere?

@@jeff3741 I spoke with David’s sister a few years ago and she said they still had 0U.

This man right here hopefully has trained someone else to take his place. You’re seeing a dying breed. Wow if I owned a Grumman he’s the only one who would touch it.
