Grundig TS-945/925 ....Schwachpunkt servozahnrad

I have got the same problem. But before my gear wheel is completely broken, I took some measurements and designed a new one, and finally printed it on a 3D printer. The results are pretty good. The servo mechanism is working good, but there is one more problem. During a playback, the right reel doesn't rotate at all. Bud during the fast forward the motor is spinning I also cleaned up switches on a big PCB.

I had the same problem. The servo tooth-whell fell into very small pieces when I wanted to turn it on after several years. Look for the spare part on Ebay: Zahnrad für GRUNDIG TS-925 , TS-945.

@batterymaker Unfortunately that's true :-( But there's someone in the net,that sell's a replacement,but it's way too expensive(112euro's = approx.148 $). With many luck,i could find such gearwheels in old trashed VCR's,copiers,printers etc.... But the origin gear is luckly still ok.

I have similar problems in clones GRUNDIG, with UNITRA. Only in my original C-3200 from GRUNDIG, a higher quality plastic, when look at the gearwheel.

I wonder if the Grundig TS-1000 has the same problem.

After reviewing the service docs, it seems that the TS1000 is manufactured in a different way.

These Grundig open reel tape recorders have always been very weak equipments, I have had a Tk 246 and this one had only a motor and a belt for its tape transport
