None. I read his autobiography of David Crockett. Well done synopsis. He did combat the Red stick Creeks twice in the 1813 to 1815 period, if you believe the autobiography (a political memoir meant to lead to more success). He joined a company of"Spies and Scouts". When The Tenn Vols crossed, he participated in the early battle of Tullaseehatchie. Specifically a fight at a Creek farm cabin. The cooked potatoes story in the later Alamo movie is lifted directly from that account. It seemed in the book to have turned his stomach, so they portrayed it that way. After he rejoined in 1814 to fight the British at Pensacola and Mobile below the "Conaker" Conechua River....they arrived at burned out Fort Mims after Jackson had driven the British from Pensacola. Crockett's group of hunters were attached to a backwater campaign on NW Florida to make sure the British didn't come up behind Jackson as he defended Mobile and New Orleans that winter. There was only one encounter with hostile Indians and the army commander was able to convince them to go home by a man on man wrestling match with their commander. Much as Crockett is portrayed in the Florida chapter by Disney...against "Ole Red Stick himself". But William Weatherford (Red Eagle) had already surrendered to Jackson the summer before. It was just a bad of Creeks that had been employed by the British against the US troops defending Mobile Bay in Sept 1814

Crockett was indeed a politician, known for his bold stance against President Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal Act, which ultimately cost him his seat in Congress. His political career was marked by a desire to stand by his principles, but it also revealed his ambition and the challenges he faced navigating the rough world of frontier politics.

He mostly opposed Jackson's economic and anti banking policies. You'll read jabs at Jackson and him removing "them deposits" in his autobiography The Disney movie made a big dramatic issue of it...he simply voted against it and ticked off his constituents.

There are about nine versions of Crockett death, all different. The surrender ones are quite dubious, and should be thrown into the trash . Fact is we will never know. The Mexicans did not know Crockett, from any of the other defenders, some knew he was there but most did not. The 2004 movie was a big flop and lost money, in good part because it defamed Crockett, without evidence . See Groneman book, on the death of Davy /David , Crockett for an in depth study...

There is no certainty About Davy Crockett's death at the Alamo. Precisely because there were at least three other survivors whose names exist on land around the area years after the alamo. Locals who watch what was going on speak of the man who spoke very well to Santa Ana and was allowed to leave after promising that he would never engage in Warfare again which would be consistent with Masonic tradition of which Crockett and Santa Ana both were brothers of. Some years later, David Crockett's signature appears on land that he was granted in Alabama where he eventually died. This signature is clearly consistent with he's known writing. Those claiming that it is not, mention that the C is a little bit out of shape. But if you've ever tried to actually use a quill pen, you might understand plus the fact that he was several years older at the time of his signing of the document.

Had it not been for the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the tragic result of the Trail of Tears, Andrew Jackson would have otherwise been a great American hero! However, I can still in good conscience enjoy listening to the Johnny Horton song "The Battle of New Orleans". This is because the Battle of New Orleans happened before Andrew Jackson was one of our most terrible Presidents, because of he did as President to Native Americans. If the world of the early 19th Century had personal computers, smartphones, the internet, texting, email, and the many 21st Century communication technologies we take for granted today, the Battle of New Orleans would never have happened, because of how the War of 1812 was already over. Just imagine Andrew Jackson smashing his his laptop computer and throwing his cellphone in a fit of rage at not being able to get revenge on the British for what happened to him during his youth! This idea would make a great skit for Saturday Night Live.
