Bob was baptised as an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian 7 months before his death On November 4, 1980, in a New York City hotel room, Bob Marley was baptized as a Christian, but few chronicles of the star's life mention it. The baptism of the reggae superstar and face of the Rastafarian movement into the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is a true story-but also, for the most part, an untold one. I always thought Emperor Haile Selassie I was a Rastafarian but he was Ethiopian Orthodox Christian. As a devout Christian, Emperor Selassie found his role as a messiah flattering, yet misguided. He did not rebuke Rastafarian beliefs, and stated he felt an obligation to remain respectful to their views.

And in such a bizarre way. He was obviously suffering from a severe and prolonged case of denial. They knew what type of cancer he had and how aggressive it was, (among the rarest & most aggressive of all skin cancers) yet after the 1977 biopsies and same advice from two different specialists, he opted for the less invasive treatment. I dont know when he switched from Rastafarism to Catholicism but it is irrelevant. There is nothing I know of in the bible that forbids one from amputating a digit in order to save your life. There's a parable for you. He obviously strong-willed and the thought of not being able to play football again mustve crushed him. He also seems (like most celebrities) to have been surrounded by 'yes people' - Why wouldnt he have spent those four years getting regular biospsies to see if it was still present? Wouldnt anyone, at bare minimum, do that? Wouldnt you demand that of your loved one? It took him literally passing out in public to go to the hospital only then learn it had spread all over,, his liver, lungs and brain. There was no good treatment option at that point. Such a tremendous loss and waste of such a gift of a human being. Not just bc of his music but bc of his heart.

Well, I've never heard of the palm reading in his late twenties but I do know that one day when Bob was about 4 years old....he had been reading hands for the ladies in his Mother's beauty salon. One day little Bob was there and a lady asked him, "Bob, would you please come and read my hand while your Mother is doing my hair?" Bob answered very determinedly for such a little boy. "No! I Am Reading... No More Hand! I Be Singing Now!". And that was the day he put an end to the "reading of hand". @@Elfan4

You know the God who knows everything that will ever happen 'divine plan' yet will torture most sentient beings in a lake of fire for eternity for doing exactly what he created them to do. this makes sense to you? Lived on top of a sewer? He lived in houses like anybody else. Trench Town was named after Daniel Power Trench the former owner of that area and has nothing to do with sewers. Bob Marley was still a child when they left for Kingston. How would Esther Anderson know that most of Cedella's stories where embellished? I am certain Bob didn't tell her that. In the early 40's it was common for people to not have access to photographs in the same way we have now. So it is amazing that there is one. Norval Marley didn't exist? Marriage Certificate (Entry No. 1198) is a recorded document of the marriage between Norval Marley and Cedella Malcolm dated 13th June 1944. Eight months before the birth of their son. How did they get married if he didn't exist? Bob Marley never had an interest in politics. Anyone who has seen the One Love Concert. Can see that the politicians when not forced to shake hands. The politicians knew why they was at that concert. They wanted the violence to stop. When people saw that the two men they were arguing about could put their hands together and their differences aside. The violence began to decrease. To me, Bob Marley was about black people creating true independence, autonomy and freedom.

@@markspringer716 This is how they make history. Place their story in as many places as possible. Then destroy, deny or hide the truth. If you question them about their version of events. They will ridicule, mock, lie and confuse the facts. Marley's days where numbered because he wanted a fairer life for black people. He had the money and the influence to make a change. A black man with power and a lot to say about the liberation of black people are taken out. Think of any influential person who wanted this type of change. They never die naturally, Do they...

Same difference. Ras is a title [i.e., 'head' of a royal family] and Tafari was his birth name. Selassie thought the notion that some people thought he was the Christian Messiah was not only an insult (bc he was actually religious - being a member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church) but a complete absurdity.
