Suggestion. Spray Permethrin on your hammock, the hammock straps/lines and the bug net. That should take care of most of the insects.

Love the tarp and totally agree to keep the whole thing together. That would be a pain in the ass to set up on the quick in the field for sure. Thanks for the first look as in-depth as you have.

I like it separated because I could replace the part that fails first without having to get a whole new system. And often I don't need a net.

Not bad. You could seal the bottom skirt with rocks or logs to get a better ground seal.

I love that this tarp is so light to be the size it is. Hopefully it passes all the Grunt Proof criteria.

That's the sort of rig for a Boundary Waters or Everglades trip when you just need enough room for a couple of people to sit and eat without being eaten. Also a spacious bug free zone for a hammock. Beats crouching in a tent.

Randal one wind makes outstanding hammocks. Light weight and easy to deploy. That tarp just takes practice putting it up

The mesh canopy looks like a good option, especially for those of us who like to camp with a hammock.

Onewind makes a spooled ridge line also that makes setup a lot easier. It has two prusix knots. I tied a third and added a micro S-biner to the end. I can have the ridgeline up in a minute that way. I've had their tarp and hammock about a year now. Very hard to beat for the money

I'm pretty impressed with that stitching and design features in the tarp alone, the skeeter net doesn't seem necessary besides in areas where it is lol, nice.

This would make a good summertime tent because it would offer great ventilation and of course bug protection You almost need a chip clip or something to cover those holes up

Oh, one other thing; I like to make my own heavy-duty somewhat larger stuff sacks or repurpose stuff sacks from larger gear for smaller gear, and I mark my bags with camo gorilla tape and a sharpie, to prevent confusion.

Have never heard of a snake cutting it's way into a tent. With that much space, it would not hurt to have a grommeted 2inch strip of material - running the length of every side along the bottom, where the stakes are - to make a mosquito netted floor.

Like the tarp. Looks like solid construction with a good water rating. Not sure about the mesh . Guess if your sitting around in warmer weather it would help with mosquitoes. Picked up a couple of dbl hammocks from SRO with an integrated net that works pretty good. Thanks for the review. Have a good one

So I would assume that without using a larger stuff sack you were unable to store the netting and tarp as a unit. Looking forward to your future assessments on these products.

The tarp seems to be a bargain. And I like the color. If I need a net I just use the surplus field cot net.

It all represents a perfect Chinese Noodle Swamp! I'd sooner settle for a DVD, front line Hammock, and sit back with a large Macallan malt. Cheers.

They could have solved the hammock thru the net with a third zipper as they have on the hot tents..

I hate hammocks, never long enough and finding the 🌲 🌲 trees together in Pacific Northwest, I usually just find a rock & a 4000 year old Cedar tree amongst billions of fir's just as big.

Looks too fiddling for field use…Just get a hammock with a bug net or an add on one that hangs around it…If you want a cheap bug net that hangs up is easy too. If you get too much gear to might as well carry a cot with poles and issue bug net.
