Very cool but it would've been better if the camera man filmed the chest and lungs showing the contribution of breathing rhythm & oxygen in take affects the singing.

I think this video mostly aimed to showcase the vocal tract (mouth, tongue, lips) and how vowels are being produced, rather than show the air intake (which you can’t see on an MRT). The breathing rhythm you can still hear clearly anyway. It’s indeed super cool!

I would love to see how different types of singers use their vocal cords differently. Let's have all genres get in an MRI and sing.

+ElvenArcher I agree. As a professionally trained singer, I find this particularly fascinating. There's a certain spot we're trained to "hit" with the sound, to bypass the throat, and I can see that very spot moving/lifting with each passage. Would love to see if from all angles. Would help illustrate the sweet spot to serious voice students.

I can't help but think that this pattern could be placed into an algorithm designed for the purpose of replicating the sounds heard. Then going through all the different sounds that make up words. Using this model to reproduce the sounds of the human voice from text sources using the model. This would probably take far less computational power than the current solutions for synthesizing a natural human voice sound.

Ha! Finally we get to see how bad singing technique looks from the "inside" and why it's bad, non-efficient and doesn't create an optimal and beautiful sound. A shame we don't have a properly trained singer with good vocal function do the same so it can be played next to this. Thanks for posting!
