I find the big tangle teaser brush is the best for getting knots out of your hair and it doesn't hurt half as much as using a normal brush :)

I've tried that but I just didn't get on with it, so far the kindest brush to my hair has been this one that I'm using by WetBrush, but I just have very knotty hair so I don't think I'll ever have a smooth ride when it comes to brush...I've accepted my fate after 32 years haha x

I much prefer a flannel facecloth to a muslin, its more comforting!! Also, the Clinique TTDO Balm works better if you put a blob on your fingers and then rub your hands briskly until it goes into a liquid, then massage it in well. You use much less then as well.
