I felt the exact same way about Maxxxine. It has serious third act problems. I also felt it needed to be grungier. L.A. in the 80s was filthy and the movie overall was a little too glossy imo. I also wanted it to embrace an 80s aesthetic more overall. The soundtrack just wasn't synthy enough. I also felt similarly about Long Legs. Major third act problems. I also couldn't help but compare it to The Silence of the Lambs for most of the runtime. It just didn't measure up. I LOVED Cuckoo - definitely my fav of the three. Let us know your thoughts!

Right, it felt like Maxxxine didn’t receive the same level of care that X or Pearl had unfortunately. Honestly I’ve never watched Silence of the Lambs 😭 so I need to get on that, and yes Cuckoo as well!
