I just graduated from Freshman Year and Now I’m gonna be a Sophomore but here are my tips (like actual tips that’ll help you) So most people say “Study” “Do your work” “Get good grades” but like cmon that’s advice for any grade level and plus you’re supposed to do that so lemme give you some actual advice 1. Grades ok soo In middle school grades don’t mean that much, but once you start 9th grade, grades matter so much (like what I mean is if you get an F in a class you will literally have to retake it the next year or summer school) The Finals that you gotta take is very stressful and overall you just rlly rlly need good grades cause now colleges are starting to look at your transcript and if you got all D’s and F’s you not finna get into a good college and if you want a degree so you can get a good job, you’re not going to be able to do it, so literally please get good grades. It all starts NOW 2. GPA. GPA is also an important thing like grades cause if you have a low GPA your chances of getting into a college are really realllly low and if you want to go into an Ivy Tech school, if your GPA starts off bad freshman year, you’re done for cause them GPA’s are HARD to bring back up. (I unfortunately had to learn the hard way so PLEASE don’t make the same mistake I did.) 3. TIME. FLIES. you aren’t going to believe me when i say this but TIME FLIES BY SO FREAKING FAST?? You probably wondering why everybody says highschool goes by fast but that’s cause THEYRE RIGHT. Like my freshman year just ZOOMED by, like I still vividly remember the first months of Freshman year and how excited I was to be called a “Highschooler” and here I am already a Sophomore 😭😭 so yeah please cherish your freshman year, cause it’s only going to get harder sophomore year, and even harder junior year, then senior year. so PLEASE cherish being a freshman. You’re going to miss it 😭 4. Whether you’re a girl or boy, (or non-binary+), DO NOT DATE A SENIOR. Trust me they only want what’s between your legs, and you’re risking losing your v card just being around them, so DO NOT DATE THEM. And when they tell you that they “love you” or “You’re my everything” Huge lies. They’re literally going to be in college next year meeting new girls, new boys, and meeting all types of new people. They WILL break your heart. Do you really think they’re going to be thinking about somebody who just got out of middle school? Of course not. This is the same advice people would give me at the beginning of my freshman year, so I’m going to do the same. So just stay away from the seniors,,,, 5. Freshman Year honestly isn’t even as bad as people say it is. Nowadays the freshman are starting to look like seniors, so barely anybody knows who anybody is unless you ask them. All you gotta do is the same thing you’ve been doing in 8th grade, 7th grade, etc. Just focus on what your teacher is saying, actually DO your assignments, study, get good grades, and pass the class! Nothing hard about that haha (also STAY OFF YOUR PHONE! I also had to learn the hard way before finding that out) 6. (Final tip) Join clubs. For most freshman you’re going to a new school and everything is going to be different, and big etc. So definitely join clubs because not only will you be able to meet new people and become friends with them, but this also gives you the opportunity to meet Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors! Trust me, it gets really boring going through your regular 7-8 hours day, going home, and repeat. PLEASE JOIN A CLUB it’ll greatly help you out :) that’s all I currently have but yeah! I hope you enjoyed the tips and goodluck on freshman year :D

for everyone going into freshman year watching this, here's some genuine advice from a sophomore:) first, GRADES MATTER!! people already say grades are super important so take it so seriously. in middle school grades don't matter too much. you get a bad grade in middle school, not a big deal. you get a bad grade in highschool (anything lower than a D) you are going to have to retake that class. retaking a class isn't fun at all. (personal experience) second, make smart choices on who your friends with. this one should go without saying, but avoid being friends with the kids who think they are cool because they vape in the bathroom 💀 you're guilty apon association and you will get in trouble just for being with them when they do it. Don't be friends with people who don't care about their grades, whether you think it will happen or not, your grades will slip as well. don't be friends with the people who don't care about school and think they are badass. third, PLEAAAASSEE don't be obnoxious in the halls, lunchroom, classroom and especially the bathrooms. nobody thinks you're cool because of how loud you are and how much of a statement you make. you'll just end up pissing people off. bathrooms in particular because people just want to go in and come out, not be bothered by freshman singing or talking to their friends in the bathroom. It's also important not to stand in groups in the hallway. it's annoying and chances are you're just getting in peoples way. stand off to the side. forth, don't try to be the teachers pet. if a teacher has a particular liking towards you then cool but don't be weird about it. people will make fun of you. nobody likes a teachers pet. fifth, don't be a bully. this should also go without saying but some people just don't get it. bullying someone doesn't make you cool, it makes people hate you. you're in highschool now, grow up and learn to just accept people who are different from you. sixth, time FLIEEESSS freshman year. it feels like just a few months ago i was freaking out about going into highschool. after the first month though, time flew by and poof it was june. have fun and savor those memories. seventh, none of the upperclassmen will remember you so don't take it too seriously and dont try to be cool infront of them. last, DONT DATE THE SENIORS BRO SERIOUSLY

@@beckettshowalter9036 i know how you feel, i was there too. i went into highschool after not seeing anyone for a year and a half due to quarantine. during quarantine, i changed a LOT as a person. i came out as queer as well as non binary, cut my hair super short and wore a lot more masculine clothing (dark colors, baggy, ect.) so i got picked on quite a bit especially being in a town as country and old fashioned as it is. the point I'm trying to make is that some people are really immature and treat others poorly to make them feel better about themselves. not much can be done to change their mindset. my advise to you would just be to continue to be yourself, be friends with people who support the real you, and don't take anything that the rude people say to heart because truly, they only say it because they are insecure and feel the need to self project.

@@imsoluckyeverythingworksout4me Personally, I would say sophomore year. Just because I started taking more harder classes such as Honors, which I had never taken before. Honors usually tend to be more fast pace and you would have do to more work in them. And during the pandemic, my school did a hybrid model of half-in school and half online, which made it hard to learn and keep track of all my classes and assignments. In general I struggled with my mental health and time management. So during that year I was really struggling on to keep up with my classes, assignments and deadlines. In my opinion as long as you aren't over extending yourself with your class workload, have decent time management skills, and have a good supportive friend group, you can do anything. And don't be afraid to ask for help, a lot of teachers are very understanding and will gladly to assist you whenever you need. Also don't be afraid to explore what your school has to offer in terms of classes, clubs and teams. For example I was interested in taking a law class at my school has to offer and I ended up absolutely loving it. And now I am currently signed up to second law class and I'm going try to push myself harder in that class. I hope this helps and good luck :)

@@regan6308 There is nothing to be nervous about, even though I was also nervous which is normal. But for tips and advices: 1. Let go of toxic people as soon as you can. - I say that because 7th through 9th grade, I was around at lot of “friends” and honestly it was nothing but drama here and there. I noticed my moods would get really sour and I wasn’t really motivated anymore because believe it or not, people can be hella toxic, even the ones who you would think are close to you. 2. Get ahead - When I say get ahead, I mean get ahead of your classes that you need in order to graduate. The was my very first mistake. I love my summer breaks and I know going to summer school will cut that short but in the end it will be very worth it. (You could graduate early 🙃) 3. Always ask questions/stay after school - I shouldn’t even have to explain this because I mean what I mean. Get at least a C+ or higher 4. Always try your best at school - As I said before, I means what I means. Don’t let them grades drop 5. Even though it’s school, try do go to school events so you’ll have something to look back at in the future - I do regret this advice so much. I didn’t really take pictures or go to school events because of all the drama I was around just made me want to stay home. Through out all of those tips, I rather you really do 1,2 first. Those would be the best first steps to take before high school. You’ll meet people and lose people but that’s fine, because that’s life

hi! i’m going to be a junior next year and i was in the same situation you were in. just a few things that i’ve learned the past 2 years: after the first few weeks of high school everything seems normal, nobody really cares about anyone besides themselves, i have never approached anyone because i’m very shy and awkward but finding a group of people is very very important. it might be difficult at first but i found people who kinda dressed similarly to me and they were so nice and like i’m still best friends with some people from my freshmen year. try not to be nervous and just be excited for the new experience (i know it can be very difficult). good luck!

if anyones watching this bc school is coming up soon & it’s your freshman year, trust me. it’s not that bad at all. i was a freshman last year (same time as the person in this video)& it wasn’t bad, at least for me. imma give y’all some tips 1. it’s absolutely NOTHING like how it is in TV shows & movies. if you aren’t going to a massive highschool like one of the biggest ones in your state, or ones with really low reputations, things like house parties aren’t a thing. 2. there isn’t really a group of popular kids that might bully you because of grades. it isn’t likely to have bunch of freshmen in a class full of seniors. there may be some popular/well known people in each grade, but it rarely extends from that. 3. if you’re going to a school with a good reputation or something like a military school & think it’s gonna be all good kids & lame, it’s not. my freshman year i went to a military school & it’s just like every other school i’ve been to. (i had been to 9, boutta be on my 10th) only difference is that physical fights weren’t common. there was still drama but it usually didn’t spread from grade to grade just because most people that are like juniors & seniors don’t often associate with freshmen 4. depending on the school, class switches usually vary between 3-7 min. there’s no sitting in the hallway & hanging out for a while. especially if your school is big. lucky mine was fairly small so i could walk my friend to her class on the other side of the school & still make it so mine on time 5. reputation among other students isn’t everything. with teachers it is because they’re the ones that give you grades & pretty much help determine your future. if you learn to just not care what people think or say about you, highschool & just life in general will be 10x more peaceful. it’s okay to get into drama and OBSERVE but never be the cause of it. never get into fights either

"We went on a two-week break in 7th grade then boom, freshman year." Sis, same thoughts. I was in sophomore year when sh*t happened can't believe I'm already graduating from High school. The sad thing tho, no one, not literally a single one expects that this thing would have happened. I'm literally sad I took high school life for granted and now I'm literally graduating in the next few months with incomplete memories. Don't wanna go to college thinking high school was the worst years of my life A friendly reminder to all currently high school students out there, incoming freshmans or middle schoolers not yet entering HS. Please, PLEASE enjoy your high school life. Don't be like me who spends almost my entire HS life doing homeworks to get good grades. If you're doing in-person then good for you but if you're not, then try to make the most out of it and enjoy it because High school really fly fast. You'll really regret not having fun and enjoying being a teenager

Tip: now it's 1 month before school so for every week wake up nearer to the time you need to wake up for school. Ex. Week 1, 7:00 week 2, 6:00 week 3 5:00 anxd so on so you can easily wzke up on the first day

I'm becoming a junior and it's actually really emotional, my sophomore year is going by extremely fast. Sadly for my freshman year it was online till the last month of school where i met a girl we became friends then she said i was toxic, for the first few months of my sophomore year i sat myself but now i have tons of loving friends and hopefully my first day of junior year i wont be by myself. Enjoy high school because when it's over it's sad and scary. It goes by really fast, stop worrying about how you look because trust me nobody cares. I come to school in pajamas and people compliment me i come to school in crop tops and i'm not the skinniest but i don't give a shit, don't try to impress people i've went down a long road where everyone would tell me " Why do you curl your hair for school?", idk sometimes i like to look nice and not like a bum, don't worry about boys or girls and dates just enjoy highschool, then when your in college or in general you can worry about that stuff since you should hopefully be mature, most freshman and sophomore arent mature.
