Personally I don’t think about the money people make. I don’t like fear mongering, we all knows what’s going on in the world, so the people I watch is people who encourage and uplift me. I enjoy your channel cause it’s family, Faith, and freedom!

I’m not sure if I would explain to anyone how I made a living! Just a simple,” yes, we work 80-90 hours per week. Would you do the same?”Plus, we open up our lives and home for the world. Would you do that? “ “ Our income is not the public’s business.” Really enjoy your videos!

Thanks folks for sharing with us. There are those out here that understand what you folks go through to make a living and we appreciate it very much. There are those who are unable to get out there and work like they use to who appreciate watching and dreaming of those days gone by and how hard we worked to get to where we are watching you guys all the time and we don't begrudge you of anything you earn and can earn more by doing commercials either. Have at it and more power to you. It's an honest living. Stay safe and keep up the great videos , Fred.

I came across this channel and a similar one while completing a project. What stands out about your content and similar ones is that you show certain mistakes your not going to see on the how to videos--its a different aspect of "how to". I keep watching because your telling a good story. The effort and time you put into crafting a compelling story is valuable. Why shouldn't you enjoy the fruits of your labor and talent?

I am glad that you are making videos and are able to support your family in this way. We are in a "whole new world". I am an old gal, but I understand that you need to be able to make money when you spend so much time video taping. People think that if you own your own business you are rich and don't do much to get $$. I love watching both channels and I loved the grocery store hand outs last year. It would be great to be able to do it again. Thanks for all you do. Joanne Gaines called me and said they will be in contact with you soon, so that they can be on next week. Wink, wink.

I cannot believe the neck of some folks actually asking how much you get paid or what you do for a living. I was surprised to hear you get paid less for Canadian viewers vs. US viewers. This was a very informative video guys, thanks for sharing the "inside information" about how KZbin creators get paid. Very interesting and must be a bit stressful for you guys. I am sorry my views from Canada don't pay you as much as a US view, but I always watch and never miss a single video so that is something. We are bracing for a ton more snow this week, and I have already plowed twice this fall. I hope you guys are still having a nice mild fall. As always, sending love from our acreage to yours.

Super interesting video. And so refreshing to subscribe to a genuine, well-meaning channel. You and your family are aspirational! (I'm an 80 y.o. quilting grandmother and mainly use You Tube for quilt ideas/techniques and enjoyment, plus keeping an eye on our political environment... hoping that the latter drama will soon be over. But then, it's always something.). All the best to you and your family!

It’s like a tv show. You must consider what the show is… content. Then cameras and moving them to get the shot the angle. Then writing, voice over, adding music. Editing so the story flows from one thing to the next. It’s a skill to make the video flow and make it seem natural like you’re standing there with them. It’s a full time job that takes way more than 40 hours a week.

No adds for me. I pay for KZbin. Worth it. Too many adds are just too much, make even good shows not worthwhile. I would buy souvenirs from your channel. I have bought from others and not found anything poor quality, yet. I get how much work y’all do especially for the level of quality. I have created training videos, the scripting, planning, execution, and editing. There is so much labor and thoughtfulness required. Y’all make it look easy. Have looked into a lot of YT's channels that talk about being content creator... I just wish i was younger and knew more about the computering world! It is so complex and so many different working parts! Y'all do an AWESOME job putting it all together and just melts my heart that the family is rock solid! Bless y'all! I'll say some extra prayers for Jeremy... think he might need it... Gonna be a really tough one to swallow 😮😅 Your podcast (uncut) really helps me get thru hump day😊... But I didn't actually put it into action until I saw you guys move to Idaho and make your dreams come true. I got on skill share and learned the basics of editing and went for it! You all are my inspiration for turning my stay at home mom life into a cleaning motivation channel! Granted I'm still a newborn channel and under 500 subscribers, I'm having a ball doing it and praying that this will, in time, help me to help others get motivated and help me to help my husband with bills ❤ Thank you so much for the motivation that you gave me to step up and try this for myself! This was a great conversation and explained so much! It solidified your values and why we choose to watch your channel and only a couple other channels because of these aspects. For example I appreciate the companies you choose to work with as their products are are useful for most people and you are not just using that opportunity to get free things for your family. Many other creators are getting thousands of dollars of free merchandise which we couldn’t afford to buy at all, doing a rush job on a video promotion and only giving viewers a hundred dollars off enrichment. As a result we have unsubscribed from many channels as we see them like your friend said as a sellout. So thank you for the work you do, not only for your channel, but for the fundraising efforts you do that again very few channels engage in. You give back to the community and I am thankful for that! Thank you for your inspiration and insight!!

That's easy. The amount of views obviously generates more income Some of the previous internet families who are generating money from ads are making in excess of 500,000 a year. Not saying GSL is However, all anyone would need to do is go research the market. That way you could get the answers you need without having to ask such personal questions. I mean, after all. There are very weird people in the world who would get the information for bad things.

I love wstching. I believe if I may be frank, I watch a lot of homesteading videos, and I am so proud of you all for the building and homeschooling and just bringing family together as it should be. Its only that it starts out great and then in a year or so it goes down from 3-4 spots a week to maybe 30-40 minutes a week. Then its said because they need to spend more time with family. That's wonderful but you have to remember you have put yourself out there for us and made us feel like family and it sometimes feels like we are just being used. Not everyone like you take us on journeys for birthdays or trips to Texas and California and shopping which is wonderful and I do understand your need to protect your children at all costs. But in my situation I look so forward to seeing your videos every week and look forward especially to your endings and words of wisdom to your subscribers. You have truly been blessed!!! You have to know there are those of us who truly love you and your family. I thank you for making that time so wonderful for me!!!!!!

You should not have to answer how much or how you make your money on KZbin. Just simply say You do the very same thing that is done on mainstream television. You produce a show as entertainment or a how to do show. Mainstream people are paid to create shows, and so are you. The real difference is that you are regular people who open up to your audience. Mainstream entertainment shows are actors who evolve into Hollywood Elite. You are one of us who work hard, have problems, pay bills, and do without to make things work for your family. At the end of the day, you make dinner, home school, preserve food, and help others when you see the need. You don't do it for fame. You do it to earn an income for your family, and this is just a new way to do it, and you all do it well, thank you.

when people watch TV or streamed shows, they know and accept that actors and show hosts get paid for the work they do and they know there is supporting production staff behind the scenes that gets paid too. People accept commercial interruptions as well, yet when it comes to KZbin or other social media channels the productions are expected to be commercial free. I am glad you outline how much work goes into the creating of content and explain that this is a full time job that needs to earn a stream of income to be able to support the process and your family.

Personally, I have a huge problem with people who are so nosey that they even begin to think it is their business how much money someone else has or how someone else supports their family. If you aren't out there selling dope or robbing banks, it's no ones business. I have followed your channel from the beginning. I see through the videos how your family grows and flourishes. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. You guys don't hide it. You put it out there for others to learn from as you have. I respect your choices of moving out of the city and raising your children in nature. I admire the courage it took you guys to drop it all and move someplace completely new and start all over. The determination to see your dream though is admirable! It doesn't matter what anyone thinks except for the ones involved, you and your family. Keep leading the way and paving the road for others to learn to follow their dreams. And I will comfortably sit here and watch the videos and support you. By the way... Is Neveah still interested in cooking? I have shelves of cookbooks covering everything from soups to desserts to vegan and paleo diets and I would be glad to share them with her to further her interest and skill.

It's a lot of work and to gain sponsors along the way it's an effort. I don't have a pod cast but would like to have one because I know there are people out there that would be interested. I like watching you and see as you go along ( local boy makes good ) your path. I'm just aware of the cost of everything out there and as a builder here in Hawaii ( on my own stuff now only ) In a wheelchair I have slowed down big time and just work on what I can at a local level. I know what the price of lumber is here and I check on loads on the mainland and it is less but still expensive. I love to watch you all and keep up the views, I'm 84, Aloha.

I love everything you do, on the main channel and here. A simple ad doesn't ruin a video, it helps you and that's what we need to think about.

this is one of the best evaluation and clear explanation of the KZbin business plan and the content creators that I have seen. Kudos to you. Also the interview with TOM and NANCY was excellent.

Thank you for being authentic and speak with clarity. I don’t know why the secrecy with regards to revenue at KZbin. I’m glad that you were open & frank about it.😊

You guys rock! That is a podcast that helped me understand the basics behind KZbinrs. For those of us who are Premium, does that take from you then? I sure hope not.

I've been on KZbin since 2006 and made some money from it a few times but a lot of us stopped making videos years ago when the KZbin's model changed and became more of a gimmick.. the thumbnails that look so stupid, and the gimmicky titles for bait. BUT that being said, we also hunt out great content and ignore the gimmick crap. I do the same thing on KZbin that I do when watching TV, I mute the commercials or skip the ads.

It’s interesting to know that creators choose the amount of ads. Some creators I can’t watch anymore because of the ads. Unlike to listen while doing chores. I don’t like having to constantly skip ads.

I'm an Australian subscriber to your other channel. The ads are Australian oriented and I don't mind them. Understanding how YTs monetise, I always like and watch the ads to the end - it's Simple :)

Thanks Guys for Making this video....It Helps Me confirm that I'm not thinking wrong. The Taboo about acknowledging the reality of needing to make YT channels Sustainable for the "hosts" always surprises me. I put in 20-40 Hours a week into YT and I appreciate the work you two put into your channel and wish all viewers did too. Thanks for making this Video/Vlog....Best Wishes

Your channel is probably my favorite and the real you always shines through. Question on the YT ads, I have a premium account to get passed those. Do you still make something on YT premium views? I think the stigma around what a youtuber makes is in part due to the human nature of getting something for free. Many people will feel offended if someone made a profit for something they "paid for" by spending an hour watching it. Luckily for your fans, you can make a living doing what you love and we get the benefit of being part of that. Thanks again!

Yes, creators get a premium payment each month, but it's a bit less. I think it's great though, enjoy KZbin the way that you want as a viewer. It's a nice option to have.

I love you guys. Don't stop making videos. I treasure your family and your videos. What you do for work, and what you make financially is NOBODY'S BUSINESS. How rude can people get! This is FREE Entertainments...I'm just Grateful for your contributions! BTW, I don't mind the ads at all...I take that time to read all the comments.
