Welcome back! It's been a long time! I started car FPV with this model, that's funny! Great video but too bad no pan/tilt option on the foam specially designed for your gopro, it would be a better great option! Have a great week!

This setup uses the goggles as the "Ground Station" so they are only as high as my head will sit, but it's true using a dedicated ground station with a tall pole with the receiver/antenna up top I'd extend range as it's all about having the best line of sight between the vtx and the vrx for longer ranges. That does however add bulk to the setup, and in this case, it was a simple setup. Goggles, radio, truck... GO! :)

Yes, adding pan/tilt can make it even cooler, however I'm using the stock stuck and radio and there are no extra channels for that so it's limited to static camera view. Adding pan/tilt makes the setup more complicated and the goal here was for a simple and straight forward setup one could do for their Wraith. Setup on this system would literally be 10 minutes! :)

that was good, i knew it was for planes but not for the ground, that being said then the ground station could be better and longer if the antenna was much higher, great idea

I might go with a higher watt vtx in that case. You'd be best served to check into the FPV packages from RMRC as those will come with all the wiring you need to link them. Of check the GroundStationTV webpage as I posted links to all the cables and setup I did for the build making that easy to get. ;)

The radio was designed for standard line of slight so it seemed to be the limiting factor getting me about 1/4 mile. the video system I used there I've had out to about 2 miles over open space with clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver antenna.

yocalidave... i was thinking of getting 25mW 5.8G TX from RMRC. Does that include the the wiring I need to power it with the battery balance lead? Just starting to learn FPV.
