As a Furch dealer I bought from Roger when he had the North American distributorship. He is everything JP says he is. And what a player and visual artist. Congrats on all your successes Roger.

First, such a pleasure to learn more about Roger and his vision of making world class instruments more accessible! I also enjoyed all of Roger’s playing. I have mentioned this elsewhere, but I wish Roger would show more of his diversity as a player on the guitar demos instead of his standard demo because he is such a special musician!! Of course I understand the functional nature of those demos but my goodness his playing is so great it would be wonderful to hear him create demos that speak to the voice of each instrument!!

You couldn’t find a better place for high end Fingerstyle guitars anywhere within 500 miles of Kitchener. Nor could you find a better person than Roger to demo them for you. One of the great features of Brickhouse is that Roger is a very fine guitarist hearing him play a guitar that is a prospect for you gives you the listeners perspective on the guitar, some thing that many places cannot provide or if they do the sales person is not really a finger style guitar player. If you have not been to the Brickhouse, you owe yourself a treat.

I've bought 2 guitars from Roger and he will be my first choice the next time I'm shopping for another. He's fantastic to talk to and I can't imagine a better person to deal with on guitars. The only downside for me is that I live in the US and cannot make it to his shop.

Great conversation, thanks for sharing. I've purchased Bouchers from Roger at Brickhouse and he is top-notch, as a player, songwriter, and artist, all along with a deep knowledge and understanding of guitars.

I don’t know if I’m an easy mark but I am very impressed with Roger and how he operates his business. He is an a accomplished player of guitar AND he really has a guitar vocabulary when it comes to luthiery. He obviously wants to make a nice living from selling BUT he comes across as being more concerned that a buyer gets the best guitar they can. It seems like every price point he carrys is a playable instrument. I trust him and I don’t trust anyone anymore. If I don’t win a guitar in JP’s next drawing I may have to contact Roger about sending a guitar to Iowa. Thanks JP for introducing us to Brickhouse Guitars.

Loved this tour of Brickhouse. So many choices, I am considering getting a Boucher - any advice J.P.? I have a Collings 02H with Rosewood, a Koa Taylor, a Epiphone inspired by Gibson based on your recommendation which is terrific, along with a Martin 000-18 and CEO 8. Nothing with Maple though - which Boucher model have you got the highest regard for? A fan.

Wonderful video, enjoyed your music album also Mr Roger, God bless! Question: would you rather play the fan freted guitars or the regular ones if money were no issue? As far as I understand the Fan freted ones are more suited to the lower tunnings playing. I wonder why are not more builders doing it? Like Furch doesn't have a Fan Fret as far as I know, Eastman had one top of their line, Cort had a limited edition Cort Cut Craft, Ibanez had a low priced version, but other than that I don't see many companies integrating the Fan Frets in their guitars. Is it because people would rather play the regular ones that they're used to?

Damnit! Too many choices!! Aaarrrggghhh!! Which guitar should I pick? We need a "Best of" in each price range! And further in each category...Fingerstyle, Mixed use, Bluegrass/Flatpicking. For those of us that just want to purchase one at a time over the course of a few years, no? $0 - $1000 $1001- $2000 $2001- $3000 $3001- $4000 $4001- $5000 etc etc etc
Every machine shop sells some junk. I went to the Gibson factory and literally everything I pulled off the wall was substandard. I've played Martin's that are just excellent, but I've played some that aren't very good. It's a world of difference when the guitar gets hand voiced by a master luthier.

@@gerald5175 Same goes with any manufacturer, lets don’t call out name does not suites J P Cormier. Guitar sounding to one person differ to guitar sounding to the other. I bought Masterbuilt but after playing Martin D18 Sinker with Adi top I had to sell Masterbuilt. No Guitar I played sounded that great as Martin D18 Sinker with Adi top.
@gerald517511 ай бұрын
@@RahulSharma-ry2pg Obviously. JP would be the first one who would say that and that was obviously the point Roger was making. There's nothing more ridiculously tribalistic as guitars. I'm glad you found a great guitar. Enjoy it. Straight up though, if you get a handmade guitar from a world class luthier in 999 cases out of a thousand it's going to sound better than a machine tooled instrument. Don't kid yourself.

yes they do...some models of Martin and Taylor are really shit with huge price...but they have an hipnotized population always to buy whatever they build

Hey JP, hope you get to have some real BBQ at Lancaster House while you're there! It's as close to real southern BBQ as you'll find in Southern Ontario.
