Hotels are a non lucrative market. The kind of effort that goes into building a hotel doesn't produce the equal result.

I agree with you but on the other hand hotel business gives handsome revenue in a long run. These multi property, complex hotels are built keeping in mind that they're going to produce revenue in coming years. And hotels offer spa, restaurants, bars, lounges, banquets etc services, which are no doubt great revenue generators.
