Tech wasn’t just playing Georgia. Tech was playing number 1. And Tech fought their tales off and yes they had chances to win the game but the good news for Tech is they have gotten back to the point where they are capable of competing with Georgia. Now they are hopefully only a year or two out from beating them. Georgia Tech is headed in the right direction.

@melaniebrooks7121 def not 3rd string, but about half offense was 2nd. They had a game plan to run, run, run and pull away late. Rest all those guys that they need this coming week, shorten game, and rely on depth. They left about 14 pts on the field, but otherwise GT offense had a good night. 2 of 11 on 3rd down really hurt.

@@ValerieGrinerTech has the #131 Rushing Defense in the country. They're not that great of a football team. Georgia made them look much better than they actually are. Winning football games and playing for a championships is not all about scoring touchdowns and beating your opponent as badly as humanly possible, especially when you are Georgia and your opponent is a .500 football team like Georgia Tech... For Kirby and Georgia, this was a "Get in, get the win as easily as possible without getting anyone of hurt" kind of game.. Lots of vanilla play calling on both sides of the ball for Georgia. The plan was very simple, run the football against Georgia Tech's HORRIBLE run defense...and win by just by being the better overall football team.. Georgia Tech played hard, but they are still a .500 football team..

I just want to make this point. When coach Smart took over the bulldogs where already a pretty well established program. Mark had already had a pretty good team. Look at the stats. When Key took over the Tech team was in pretty bad shape. We shifted from the triple option to a pro style of play. Went what 3 season with 3 wins each. A joke of a fbs team. I still watched every game. I watch most dawgs games along with GAST. Some GASO along with Mercer and Kennesaw St. I'm Georgia born and a Georgia football fan. I'm all the way a Tech fan. And yeah it might not have been the dawgs tip top players out there but considering Tech gave them some "hell" and scored 2 more points than anyone else this year against them and looked so much better than what I've watched in years its a win and I'll take that anyday. That gives me hope for the future. With that bring said. To HELL WITH GEORGIA. BUT GO DAWGS. LOL.

I like Brent Key, but I still hate that decision to not go for it on 4th and 1 when your offensive line is winning at the line of scrimmage every down. Another touchdown instead of settling for a field goal does a LOT for the momentum of the football game and I genuinely believe Tech would’ve been able to convert and score.

As I watched this game in the stadium I lost context of what we wanted to do until I watched post game pressors. We were playing at 65% effort. Not playing many of our guys in prep for next weekend/Alabama. We can not have inuries playing Alabama. Listen GT ran the ball well. But the QB was 11/20 and you can not even dream about beating Georgia being one dimensional like that. The GT fans and DJ were great. As much as I frkn LOATHE and wanted to kick UGAs ass, I'm a realist too! We aren't there yet; HOWEVER, our program IS in a HELLUVA LOT better spot than it was with Joke Collins over the last 3 yrs! I'm so proud of CK, his staff and work these kids have put into re-establishing Ga Tech football as a program to be reckoned with! This team was the first step and foundation stone of building that process! No longer are we just the sizzle and no steak! Teams now know that we will punch you in the mouth and hit you with body blow after body blow and not back down! CK knows he doesn't have the horses yet to jump that hurdle of beating the elites of college football, but give him a few more recruiting classes and I guarantee we'll be back in the Top 15 (at least) consistently bc we've been there before consistently! One thing did come out of the UGA game that I did want to happen though, I wanted Tech to at least keep it close and be competitive, and not get blown off the field 55-3 or some ridiculous score like that. And keep in mind, had Singleton been able to stay in bounds in thr end zone, we'd have been tied in the 4th qtr. This game paralleled Rocky I, where even though Rocky didn't win by decision, or knock out, he went toe-to-toe with Apollo Creed and went the distance when nobody else believed he could. That was Tech last night!!! UGA definitely has chinks in their armor, I've seen their weaknesses, and it's my hope for them, especially being a Tech fan, that they lose this year when it matters the most and costs them a 3rd straight title!!!! Keep it going CK, we love you guys and extremely proud of you! THWG....ALWAYS!!!

@@ValerieGriner Hahaha And most UGA "fans" weren't UGA fans prior to Kirby Smart either! Most of them can't even name more than 2 QBs since Buck Belue from 1980! I used to be a UGA until 1987, so I know more UGA history than most bandwagon fans over the last 30 yrs. And once I became a Tech fan,, I learned OUR history also, like we still have one more National Title than yall and we still hold the longest win streak between both schools at 8 straight games. We also won 30 straight in the early 50s under legendary coach Bobby Bodd. See I'm a REAL fan where I know a teams history, and what their program is about bc I grew up with football all my life. And you obviously didn't read what I wrote on the onset bc I said IM ALSO A REALIST in that I knew UGA would win! I just wanted to keep it competitive regardless of who played and who didn't. And for the record, yall had all yalls horse and still should've lost to Auburn and about got beat by Missouri too, so yall ain't invincible and in typical UGA fashion all of yall so-called bandwagon fans have always been legends in your own minds. @@ValerieGriner And I feel the exact same way about why the hell would anybody want to be a UGA fan, so that a mute point itself lol I still challenge you to name 11 QBs since Buck Belue, just a friendly challenge without Googling it lol The reason we've been down for so long is bc our ADs since hiring Bobby Ross (NC Coach at Tech btw and George O' Leary) is bc all the ADs since O' Leary have sucked and made shifty hires! Choke Gailey was a joke, CPJ w as as up and down at Tech with a HS offense as a whore on the clock, and Joke Collins is the reason we have Brent Key now. And Collins and the AD that had his back were both shown the door! George O' Leary was the last consistently winning coach we had, and low and behold, Coach was a O-lineman under him, and for the 3 years straight we beat UGA 1998-2000. And it's been since 1999, not 1998 since the last time we beat UGA at home, yet ironically the last three times we've beaten yall have been on YOUR field...hmmmm lol Don't get me wrong, I ain't here to hate my friend, this is just good old fashioned trash talk lol I have nothing against you and never will lol We're both passionate about our teams and that's what makes rivalries fun lol I just don't take it too far or become personally insulting bc there's no point to that! The more miscues you made against Tech this year the worse you performed against them. (talking to Miami and UGA here) One thing that is strangely overlooked in college football is the vested interest in a program by an alumnus hire such as Key, Smart, Harbaugh, etc. Everyone and i mean everyone else is playing the role of a hired gun. Saban might be the exception--though he is (in my ignorant statement to follow) the only coach i know in history who has a stipulation that whenever someone exceeds his salary annually, he gets an automatic raise. People complain about Jimbo Fisher. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.

What O seen the most was when Georgia wanted to run the ball to finish the game they did and everyone knew what was coming. Key going for the field goal instead of the TD shows he knew he was going to lose. He was playing for a moral victory. It was rivalry game. Tech players played hard. Much respect to Tech. UGA knew they could rest their starters and come out ahead. They did get a handful though. One of those nights where the breaks seemed to all go GT way. Turnovers, pivotal calls, bounces. They had all the ingredients of an upset trap game, but what they allowed it to do was keep it respectable. That said, I agree with the fg in qtr 1. Billy napier at FL tried that, a 4th and 1 against uga that was stopped, and the team never recovered on the way to being blown out.
