This bike is was on my wishlist along with the Redline, my dear friend Tony (RIP) had a Diamondback & I had a Toro we'd hit the local dirt track and have a blast, riding for hours, crashing, getting up & dusting ourselves up and going for more! The 80s were great years to be a teen..

I bought a black 93 Mach One out of nowhere. It is in phenomenal shape and was checking out the components. Had no idea how iconic it really is. The sprocket crank bolts, transparent bar grips, and bear trap original pedals are worth than my five finished bike projects alone. Not the point about price, but I immediately became aware of what I owned. Was talking to a BMX shop owner today, and we knew this racing specimen is spectacular. Going to keep it original.

My dad bought me this exact bike - I grew up in a town where having a nice bike made you a target - it was really hard to hold on to a decent bike as a kid there. I got the bike when I was like 14 or so, I'm.44 now. I held onto it as long as I could until some big bully asshole stole it from me. The bike was around 300 dollars new, if I recall correctly, and at the time, it was pretty much the most expensive top-of-the-line bmx bike in the shop. This is a great restoration, and by the end of the video, the bike looks almost exactly like the one I had, except for a couple of details. The handle bar clamp was gt branded, not Dyno branded, of course, and the seat itself was actually composite - partly plastic, partly foam. The entire top of the seat was foam kind recessed into the plastic frame of the seat. I honestly get both an angry feeling and a nostalgic feeling when I see the bike. Angry at the guy who stole it from me, and nostalgic for the bike itself...

First trick, on a race bike what's only progression from there was speed. Mach One's a "bad" bike.

I don't really know I was 10 in 93 and that's when I got my new bike luckily enough he replaced my old "bmx predator Chrome red checkerboard" and letting me pick out a new bike at the bike shop, I guess that was his way of saying he was sorry...! P.S. the handlebar grips when I was a kid was a bitch to find then to I had to replace them a couple times cuz they were gel'ed and I would burn through them... they were really nice to have but kind of a bad design and mine did not have the GT sticker logo underneath it I guess the bike shop screwed me on that one lol..
