Good one JC ! Stick baiting is really addictive and its awesome when you see the rhythm kicking in after thousands of not so good retrieves . You have covered it so nicely that it's now easier for anyone trying to do a good job ....won't have to go thru the boat time figuring out the basics ! Awesome !

Agreed Hooks play an important part on how your bait preforms in water. Conditions variable . Single hooks on back of my sinking swims gives more action when conditions are perfect.

I find with our shoal kingfish that the pause on stickbait can be very short. They seem to want a fast presentation as the shoal is always bloody moving. I've been reluctant to show them a slow presentation. But I've been mixing up a mechanical jig style with short sweep on slow sink stickbait and they riding just under the surface like floater. Also when I'm standing a bit higher I found sinking bait is better. I think with retrieves you need to find what they want on the day? I prefer a 9.6 to 10 foot rod for shoregame for a few reasons. Did you use short rods in Oman for shore Gt?

Brilliant video John . If your going to fish mainly reef flats with soft plastics and stickbaits ,let's say with mostly a pe4 set up , would a Stickbait rod be suitable for small Poppers ? Thanks for your feedback mate

I have never used conventional for casting but you see plenty do it, it looks cumbersome to me but hey, if it works!
