For those 4 wheel drivers, realize the Moto has 2 contact patches a little over the size of a credit card and because this is a public road must leave a little wiggle room for the random dirt, oil or squirrel. Also, the speed isn’t enough to warm up the tires to their optimal temps. So he/she isn’t riding a race pace. Driving w 4 wheels/tires we take things for granted the Moto can’t afford to disregard.

A video full of wholesomeness, kudos to both of you for the lane discipline (well u cut mayos from time to time, but long as its not mustard). The biker had multiple chances to pass the slow trucks in front of her and left you behind if she wanted to like most bikers would do, instead she waited for them to pull over, a true local warrior who respect local traffic as well as she’d like u to chase her for an epic run! Moment of mutual respect between you two as well!

Y’all need to keep in mind this is a public road and while access to it is somewhat limited, because of its popularity, there is still a lot of traffic on it with many people not accustomed to either driving fast on curvy roads or, allowing for others’ mistakes. I can assure you that if you were a passenger with me on this road, you wouldn’t be comfortable going any faster.

I wanna rip here so badly! Do cops just not petrol this road frequently, or is it something to keep in the back of your head?
@renaissanceman71452 жыл бұрын
The local cops are well aware of the reputation their little stretch of road has. They also have a good idea as to the number of people who come from all over each year just to ride the gap. Most importantly, they know exactly how many crashes, injuries and deaths occur each year on that stretch of road. So, law enforcement officers patrolling Deals Gap isn't something I'd recommend be kept "in the back of your head". It should be front and center along with all of the variables you must deal with to safely ride/drive the gap. Weather conditions, traffic conditions, road conditions, condition of your vehicle, knowledge of your vehicle, ability with your vehicle and your knowledge of that stretch of road, to name a few, are more important than what the cops are doing but they are still up there on the list of important things to consider and remember. Not trying to be a kill joy. I too enjoy high speeds, twisty bits and motorcycles. I even enjoy twisty bits at high speeds on a motorcycle. Regardless, just as we see with every other govt. agency, the departments/agencies responsible for patrolling Deals Gap are growing, increasing their presence, writing more tickets, increasing their revenue through fines, allowing them to hire more officers, so they can patrol more, to write more tickets... To do it "right" you'll need a minimum of 3 people/vehicles and the ability for all 3 to be in constant contact with each other. #1 leads the pack, watching for and alerting to any LEO, with a time gap that allows for them to make the trip at the posted speed limit and not be passed by #2, who is not concerned with the limit, followed by #3 who also watches/alerts regarding LEO and holds up traffic a little bit. Of course this is after the 3 of you have driven/ridden the gap together at the posted speed limit at least 100 times each way so that you all know each turn like the back of your hand. All the best!

Dude is good! Keeping a very fast pace while always maintaining his lane. Very highly skilled rider and a SAFE one too! I miss the mountains so bad! I lived in Blueridge for 4 years, right off of hwy 60 and rode the mountain roads every day. Hwy 60 South East to Suches and take hwy 180 North up to Vogel State Park and Hwy 129. Id tear down the mountain turn around at the bottom, come back up and then take 129 all the way through Blairsville, into Murphy,NC and on to the Dragons tail. We would spend an hour or so playing and then take the express route home. Did it every weekend and many times, every day. Theres no one on the road at noon on a Tuesday. Then time to grill steaks, have a great dinner then lounge by the fire with a cold beer and a bottle of red wine for the little lady. We would talk until the sun came up every Friday night. Wish i could go back in time. Id never leave that period. The North Georgia mountains will always be my home.

I have rode and driven both Hot Cars and very fast bikes over the years and the one thing I won't encourage is wanna b Ricky racing after a bike in a 4 wheel anything. Every time you stepped off and over thought that right white line and track onto the shoulder leaves potential to drag little rocks and crap from the edge. The last thing Girls and Guys on Fast Sport bikes like to encounter on rides like these are little pebbles and crap to disrupt that finite line between " Yeee Haaw and Oh Shit debris ".
