Looks like only ONE driver has understood the start flag procedure. He let the clutch out when the flag got to the top just when it started coming down. No waiting until the flag comes al the way down. The Kirkaldy penalty was wrong. Spiers didn't have any contact; he put his wheels on the grass and his car span.

Kirkaldy definitely jumped the start, you can see it in slow motion if you stop the video at 0:06 then advance frame by frame. #81 started moving forward while the flag was still being held high and before the flag started to drop. You can use the fullstop & comma keys on your keyboard to advance & back up frame by frame and that's the only way you can see exactly what happened. End of story for all those who think otherwise in previous comments, you're just plain wrong, pure and simple.

Kirkaldy simply nailed the start...there should not have been a penalty. I watched it over and over...someone please tell me if it's supposed to be on the drop of the flag...because Goodwood does one swift motion, they don't hold it out, and then drop it...
@dhrracer7 ай бұрын
If you say you start on the flag drop. The flag clearly drops from the starters hand before he raised it. To the announcers. If a driver is aware of a penalty and backs off and loses positions, he will not have a reason to disputes the penalty. In this case if Kirkaldy potions for the penalty to be reviewed and the penalty is overturned he will be the winner. Which he should be.

The gt40’s didn’t start winning until they were sent to the US and completely reworked by ford and its subcontractors kar kraft ,Shelby and Holman and moody. Also Shelby went to Chevy first with the cobra idea and they didn’t want anything to do with it
@grahambell42987 ай бұрын
@@travislostaglia8861 The only reason the GT40s didn't start winning until they were sent to the US was because the corporate dickheads at Dearborn wouldn't listen to what John Wyer and Eric Broadley were telling them. If they had then the transmission, suspension and aerodynamics problems the car had could have been fixed much earlier.
