My father was so nice he bought me the next day very early 8 o clock in the morning a memory card to save my game. I will never forget that time playing this game with friends as a teenager. She needs to be criticized, but you can also sympathize with her. At least because of cruel, disrespectful, humiliating and disgusting treatment from Salvatore and I can't blame her why she hates him. Maria is a perfect example of how one big mistake of youth (San Andreas) can completely pervert, disfigure, mess up and destroy a person (Liberty City Stories), but also she is an example of no matter how low she fell she always has an opportunity to repent of what she has done and correct herself if she wants it and makes every effort to do so (in GTA 3). You see a speck in someone else's eye, but you don't notice a log in your own.

its unconfirmed really, im pretty sure its supposed to be an opened to interpretation. i think most likely he just shot in the air to shut her up, claude doesnt use words after all. if maria was actually shot and killed there would probably be more sound effects (body falling to the ground, probably some sort of gurgle sound as well.) rockstar norths mission was to be as detailed as possible, so if she was actually shot they would probably go the extra mile to really drive home the point.
