They could have substituted the old helicopter model by the Maverick by only updating GTAIII Renderware version by the one of GTA Vice City and putting over the Unreal Engine. But, no, they prefer leaving as it is.

i will be very happy if they add more weapons,bikes, flyable planes and flyable helicopters to the gta3 definitive edition . It does not make sense not to have a minigun,colt python,axe,knife,machete,m60. if you play liberty city stories which is set in 1998{3 yrs before gta3 takes place} had these weapons. and also there was flyable helicopters and planes { normally you cant fly helis in lcs but you can spawn a heli or plane by using trainer or cheat device} also lcs had bikes.....

Gta 3 definitive edition is a “remaster” remaster means that controls and graphics may be improved, but never able to change the way that the game was. which means they cant change the story, add new island, add new characters or bikes etc..
