For those wondering why GTA V heists took extended preparation and this one didn't, keep in mind that the McRearys were the ones who planned this heist and Niko was simply a hired gun. Much like Packie in V.

The name “Three Leaf Clover” actually has a dual meaning. Obviously the robbery started with four, and one died. The original four represented the luck associated with four leaved clover. One being killed immediately sealed the unluckiness of the robbery, hence three leaved clover representing unluck.

I think GTA IV's story deserves a little more appretiation. I like the connection they make between Niko's family and Packie's. Niko is all the time trying to get money just to take care of his family and loved ones, and through all the game he's just trying to break out of the criminal life to keep them safe. On the other hand you have Packie and his brothers who steal and kill for a living without caring about their safety. Later on in the game Packie's brothers will end up dead or with a life sentence. Also, in the end you have two options: the money or vengeance. If you choose money Roman will die meaning that you decided to take the money instead of killing those that are a threat to your family. But if you choose vengeance Kate will wind up dead and Packie will have finally lost all of his family (well, except for his mother) and later on when he calls you he will be completely drunk and miserable because even if he has cash he finally lost it all when you will still have all of your family. This is actually a recurrent theme in the game, so the moral would be that you should always put those that you love before anything else because life would be shit otherwise Another interesting detail is that before the final mission both Kate and Roman will call you to choose the mission that will get them killed respectively. So no matter what ending you choose, you will always have chosen the one that the character that lived didn't want you to choose and will end up resenting you. This could mean that sometimes you will have to go as far as doing wrong things for the right reason but you will always end up losing something. You could be a hero but noone would ever know. So, what is better? To live an empty life where everyone loves you or to do the right thing even if it means people might think you're a douche? I, however, think that last thing is really unlikely and it was just Rockstar fucking with us. But it still makes you think...

My all time favorite GTA mission. It was an obvious nod to the bank heist and famous street shootout scene in the film 'HEAT" which is a favorite film of mine, so the idea of getting to relive that in a GTA game was an amazing experience. I remember after I completed the mission wanting to replay it, and also thinking that there's no way any other mission will top that, and none did afterwards. Quite difficult at times, but so fun.

+Son Goku A lot of things in the GTA universe "would never happen" and are "cartoony" as fuck. Like the fact the protagonists are basically one man armies and that they can constantly commit crimes (like stealing random people's cars at a whim) and never have the police banging down their doors. That's not really good reasoning. GTAV is more realistic in its bank heists actually since most of the time they do them in a such a way to hide their identities and get the money out as quietly and quickly as possible.
