The sticky bomb throws like Smith pulled off after the jump on that last race are AWESOME. Ross getting in the lead and laying proximity mine after proximity mine to eternally keep his lead suck ass. Please don't use Proximity mines. at least the sticky explosives require timing to detonate and can be used to throw at cars instead of putting them in tight areas where you HAVE to hit them.

Like I said, they should totally keep using the Sticky explosives, because passing someone by sticking their car or shooting a missile is funny as hell. Locking down a race with repetitive and unavoidable proximity mines to decide a race immediately sucks ass IMO.

Sammy Same style powerups go for Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart (though I don't believe there's an equivalent of Bullet Bill).

okay, so they can either learn to do that while still keeping up a reasonable speed, or slowing down to look at every choke point or check point and either slowing down severely so they can shoot them or coming to a complete stop to make the shot, because we both know they aren't good enough to make those shots(or even see the stickies all the time) at full speeds on tracks that allow them to use zentournos and the like. So either way the mine forces them to lose precious seconds, and they have no other option. Proximity mines are an incredibly unnecessary element to the races that serve no purpose other than to cause a ton of easily predictable and boring explosions, or with your suggestion of shooting them will probably at least slow them down enough to ensure that passing won't be a thing unless the track has a gimmick that's particularly hard to go through or the person makes a HUGE mistake.
