I get that this is based off a show, but it would be cool as hell to roll up in a news van with a newscaster and do those on-scene live reports. Getting an interview with one of the officers would be icing on the cake. Something to think about for later.

I used to do that for a living, I would just film stuff, I rarely talk at all when I am filming. Never had an issue. I was way less intrusive though, I just set up my tv cam, zoom in, hit record, then slowly get closer the longer I was there. I usually went to fires shootouts big car wrecks, anything smaller ya didnt bother with. Sometimes though nothing happened. Which was a good thing. I sat at the station and worked on other stuff.

In the show it seemed like the stringers only put the ambers on when they were in the middle of the road or on the side of a highway. Might be better to only turn the lights on in those situations. Also getting some unmarked cars with amber lights in the server would be really cool.

@Jeff Favignano That is actually my job I am a stringer for Elkhorn media a based in Eastern Oregon. In fact the other day on a structure fire call I had in older man try to literally fight me. I immediately back down and stepped away. Then he proceeded to attempt a fight with our local chief of fire. So we ran the story anyways. The funniest part is I had my Glock 21 on my hip. After retreating to a safe location I shot the photos with my Nikon 200 the 500 mm lens. Last week I was on the story of a 1952 Cessna 180 day crash at our airport. It was a beautiful aircraft he just purchased it for $250,000, luckily he only touched the prop. Speaking with a witness on touchdown his brakes were jammed or he applied too much brake pressure. Luckily is all it's going to need is an engine rebuild granted that is easily 25,000. I have a very awesome way of sending my photos and video to the studio while on location. Happy Thanksgiving buddy
@nicholasgaydos58907 жыл бұрын
when you are covering a call, you should do the camera emote instead of first person!

Hey Jeff, a suggestion: Polecat and Buggs have a series where they use Gruppe6 security vehicles with amber lighting. If it's at all possible to use the trainer menu to remove the security livery (and the top lightbar) and just add a simple white or silver paintjob to the vehicle, I think that would be more appropriate for what you're trying to do. Also props for adopting this idea. As an EMT in CA, I see stringers all the time and it was cool to finally see their side of things through a Netflix series. I also agree with what others have been saying that you should have multiple stringers from different companies so you have that sense of competition from the show. Could definitely make for some interesting encounters!
