GTA: Liberty City Stories (PS2) / Gameplay [PCSX2] (HD Texture Pack) [16:9/4K@60]

This is my favourite GTA from the 3D era for far. I still cant understand WHY Rockstar was lazy enough to never port it to pc... HD textures look REALLY awesome but i dont really mind to play the vanilla version in my old beloved PS2 slim

Rockstar has always been a company that makes somewhat strange decisions, especially with the GTA saga... but I think it was due to temporary (long-term) exclusivity so that it would only come out on SONY consoles (PSP & PS2) and then they decided that It didn't make sense to port it to PC. In any case, Rockstar has never cared about the PC platform and it shows with its horrible ports, saludos!

@@RetroGamingX1 you are completly righ, specially with GTA SA... PS2 version has much more awesome details compared to the horrible PC and Xbox versions. GTA VC and GTA 3 were ok.

@@2009lucho That's how it is. It is worth mentioning that for XBOX the versions of GTA 3 and GTA Vice City were far superior to those of PS2/PC, especially in the graphic and audio section, saludos!

How do you install this texture pack? And how keep 30 or 60 FPS stable?

Hi, the first thing you should do is download the desired texture pack gbatemp.net/threads/my-ps2-packs.621422/ . The next thing is to put the "SLUS-21423" folder inside "textures". In PCSX2 in the Graphics section you must activate "Load Textures" and "Async texture loading", that's all, saludos!

@@RetroGamingX1 I made it, but the weapon's HUD is still in bad quality. And general textures seems to be a little bit better but not like the video. I use the PCSX2 v1.7.5225

The texture packs are regional, this pack is for the USA version, so in version E only some textures will be loaded and not all.

Ya veo, mira, la saga GTA de PS2 puede ser modificada para que en la versión (USA) se muestre cualquier idioma soportada por la version (E). Lo que debes hacer es abrir la iso EUROPEA y buscar los archivos de idioma (carpeta "TEXT") seleccionar el español (SPANISH.GXT) y copiarlo sobre la iso USA renombrando el spanish.gxt por english.gxt (SPANISH < ENGLISH.GXT) ya que la versión USA solo buscará el archivo en inglés. También puedes modificar las radios, yo tuve que hacerlo porque cuando subí el playthrough no podia desactivar la radio de manera efectiva asi que le puse archivos de radios en blanco. Para esta tarea te recomiendo el programa "UltraISO".

How work "PCSX2 Fork With Plugins" its like secend emulator, how use it on my emulator and add all this pluigins like extend draw, rain drops?

Hi! "PCSX2 Fork With Plugins" is a fork which is updated regularly just like the development versions of PCSX2. The only difference is that it allows you to use plugins created by "ThirteenAG" and thus add mods to some PS2 games (mainly the GTA saga). To use them you just have to download the latest version of this fork and download the plugin corresponding to the version of the game and put them in the PLUGINS folder, it's that easy, saludos!

Unfortunately it is not possible since you need the modified version to load the plugins, but I think you can copy the PCSX2 configuration file to the fork (inis/PCSX2.ini folder).
