In this video I'll show GTA V vehicles which are in mistakenly or intentionally put in wrong vehicle brand by rockstar. This list will be based on real life vehicles and brands.

Here're some corrections (I'll update this comment as per viewers reply): 0:50 Dune, etc buggies are also based on VW beetle chassic, so they're ok in BF brand. 1:13 Rumpo is based on Chevy Express not ford as mentioned in video and therefore It should be in declasse. 1:55 Freecrawler should stay in canis as Rezvani Tank SUV is based on Jeep Wrangler chassis. 2:26 Taipan is under Chevel not coil but still Taipan is odd vehicle as Chevel is based on Holden and all its vehicles are based on some Holden model except Taipan. 4:10 Ruiner is more camaro than transAm, so it can also be considered in declasse brand. 5:52 buzzard & outlaw are based on kawasaki, so they're fine in Nagasaki brand 7:42 I forgot Vapid chino which is based off 1966 Lincoln Continental, Should be in Dundreary brand. 8:27 Reever is also based on Harley Livewire, So It should stay in western motorcycles. 8:34 I forgot to mention that Benefactor/Mercedes is also a brand that rockstar gets 100% right

Cheval is a brand where nothing fits. The Picador is an El Camino, which should actually be on all other Chevrolet vehicles. The Surge is the same, it represents a Chevrolet Volt so it should be somewhere else too

@@loonieundsucci Actually the thing is that holden and chevy have some rebranded vehicles, It's a common practice in auto industry...Volt also comes with holden badge, same with caprice which fugitive is based off and El Camino resembles Holden HJ ute. Marshall is based off picador so that's that which leaves us with Taipan which is just odd in this brand but they should merge this with declasse because of similar models.

Something that I noticed is that, when the game released in 2013, cars were way more different than their real life counterparts. Now, with recent updates, cars look pretty much the same as the actual IRL car. (Of course there are still some differences) You can notice this by looking at the Infernus and then comparing it to the Ignus

I was thinking the exact same thing. Like look at Michael's tailgator if you look at the front you almost can't tell it's an audi but look at the new tailgator that they released with tuners update you can tell it's an audi from a mile away. It's either they changed their style of designing cars and being more like the real cars or they just got lazier and it takes less time to just do minor changes to the actual design.

The “Random Off-Road Vehicles” are still based on Beetles, just heavily modified. They’re called “Sand Rails”.

Even if they're based on Beetles, they shouldn't really be branded as BF. In my option, only real BF are Surfer, Club, Weevil and Injection, though Weevil looks better and more realistic than Injection.

Also, people still refer to them as a “VW Sand Rail/Beach Buggy”, whether that description is accurate or not is up to you, but, ultimately, for the sake of simplicity and ease of organization, they’re still given to BF and not a random throwaway company like Bollokan or Zirconium.

5:53 these are not random. Kawasaki makes helis, boats and ATVs. The Buzzard is primarily based on the Kawasaki OH-6J, The Outlaw is the Kawasaki Teryx KRX. The only vehicle that Kawasaki doesn't make is the Dinghy. However, there's a lot of speedboats made by Kawasaki, so it's not really wrong.

In a way, the same applies to the Toro being put under Lampadati, tbh - it's mostly based on the Riva Aquarama, which was built with a variety of engines... Including one equipped with twin Lamborghini V12s.

Rumpo offroad is based on a real life offroad van which is based on ford e series chassis which leds me to believe that they're ford... Google it you'll find it Update: although the offroad version does resembles ford based custom van IRL but after some google search later, I am gonna admit that it looks more closer to Chevy express than ford. I'll update the same in pinned comment as a correction...thanks for your feedback.

Another thing put at the wrong place in GTA Online, our personal vehicles when we call Mors Mutral to get the car back after being destroyed. Our personal vehicle spawns at a Vapid dealership(Trevor's garage) but it should spawn at the actual Mors Mutral next to Record A Studios, spawn the personal vehicles in the alley. Just my two cents.

@@sovereigngta1555 If it's because of a space problem, then the alley would be a good spot for vehicles to go. But even then, there's barely any cars sitting there to begin with except for like one. But still, it doesn't make sense for Rockstar to use a Vapid dealership as the place for Mors when there's a building and alley they could use.

I do agree that those Supras should be part of Karin but the name is already stuck to it since San Andreas. They could have named modern NSX as Nexus, not Jester. We could have old nsx as Nexus classic

The Rezvani is largely based on a Jeep platform, so it makes a little sense there. The Sabre I see as GM big body muscle in general, there's bits there from Olds, Buick and Chevy so it could really just be any of the GM based brands. I think a little brand mix and match though helps sell the "alternate universe" idea that GTA is based on. Things seem familiar yet wrong at the same time almost like a reminder that this isn't our world. So so long as the vehicle at least makes sense within the in-universe brand I'm not going to complain about where it is, like Mammoth being a largely military contractor brand, so it makes sense they have some other vehicles. There's a few that I can't really get around, like the Virgo changing hands between to competing luxury automakers and the Jester being based not only on entirely different cars, but different brands and different drivetrain layouts with different design language as well. I suppose real life automotives can be just as messy though, look at the Blazer through the years Full Size 2 door based on Chevy K10s to a compact 2 and 4 door based on the S10 to a midsize (with an optional long wheelbase 3 row)based on the Colorado and then a series of compact SUVs again based on unibody platforms. Saw a new Trailblazer parked next to an old K5 yesterday and thought it was funny, both great vehicles in their own right but funny to see them carry the same name. Ford has done similar with the Maverick and even the Mustang, and modern Stellantis Jeeps wouldn't be here if not for Ford and later AMC. Ultimately I think it's best just to "live" in the GTA universe and take the in universe brands for what they are, and while real life comparison will ultimately be made, it's best not to dwell on what's "wrong" or you will just frustrate yourself on what's ultimately a parody game that constantly makes fun of its own userbase at every turn. Unless of course you are laughing along with the creators, because I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that some of the inaccuracies are 100% intentionally done by some trolls at Rockstar just to rustle some jimmies.

Well Sabre Turbo is based on Chevrolet Chevelle ini my opinion, but the rear bumper with its stoplamps are based on Oldsmobile Cutlass. That Osiris is based on Pagani Huayra

actually, the 190z, although the name looks like the real Z name, its whole body is of the Toyota 3000gt, only the front bumper is from the Nissan Z, so it makes more sense being in Karin than Annis, i just wish they didnt mix both cars together, if they released a car completely based on the 3000gt and one completely based on the old Z (i forgot the number before the Z), it would be a lot better tbh

tbh the real cars were technically the same car at one point. Yamaha built the original prototype for Nissan, but Nissan rejected it. Toyota picked it up from Yamaha and sold it as the 2000GT. Nissan saw the success that Toyota got and re-initiated the project, and the 240Z was born. That’s why the two cars look very similar, they were essentially the same car at one point. Rockstar knows this and decided to mash the two together I suppose. Putting it side by side with the 2000GT and 240Z, the 190Z is a 2000GT with a 240Z front end. The side profile is too low to be 240Z based. It’s definitely a 2000GT.

Oppressor is the Honda from Street Hawk, and the Mk2 is a concept hoverbike by BMW. Kinda amazing to hear the FCR1000 is actually a BMW engine sound, (should sound like an R series and not a K, but they do get points for effort)

The Esperanto (Roadcruiser) is a 8th Generation Lincoln Continental The Dukes has some styling cues from a Pontiac LeMans (maybe this was Rockstar's rather stupid reasoning) The Nightshade could also be argued as a Firebird as that generation was identical The Deviant should be in Declasse, since the Rhapsody was added first The Revolter has styling cues from the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, so that's probably Rockstar's logic again Interesting that you didn't mention the Vulcar Ingot as that's a 1993 VW Passat Wagon You also missed the Ruiner, it's in Imponte yet that's a Camaro Iroc-Z Another interesting note is the Zirconium Stratum which is supposed to be a Honda Accord Wagon and so should be in Dinka

Esperanto looks more like malibu to me specially with police parts Dukes is certainly a charger, the names dukes is from dukes pf hazzard and flags on roof is another reference Nightshade looks like more camaro to me than firebird Deviant is AMC which was sub-brand of Chrysler...so that make sense Revolter is certainly looks more like cadillac Vulcar ingot...I am not sure..have to check that Ruiner is camaro I agree but I intentionally leave it because it also has trans am in it...but I think I should've added it in list too stratum is saturn based IMO as brand zirconium is like knock-off of models from other brands In the end it's all based on how a person see them because there's no definitive answer to what car is what...newer cars on gta online however are exact copy of original cars these days but older cars are still mixture of 2-3 cars atleast

Another strange thing is that none of the vintage planes are branded Vapid (Ford), as ford used to make planes as well, such as the Ford Trimotor. You can see a nod to this at the Mckenzie Airfield in Grapeseed, there's a large Vapid logo on the hangar.

8:00 Back then in GTA 4, the Contender is originally based on 2005 Ford SVT Lightning Concept, so that Vapid brand make sense with it. Now, in GTA 5, the GTA 4 Contender is re-vampered into Vapid Utility, I think you can recognize that.

The Imponte Dukes is actually mostly based on the Pontiac GTO with the front of a Charger. And the 190z is almost entirely based on the Toyota 2000gt, with the front bumper and lights of the fairlady. It makes sense to be in Karin. Plus, the Osiris is in Pegassi because it's a reference to how Pagani used to work at Lamborghini, the same reason why the Deluxo is part of Imponte

LCC isn’t just all custom bikes, the brand is a mixture of West Coast Choppers and Orange County Choppers. An example would be the avarus, it’s based of the OCC T. rex, and the hexer would be a WCC CFL. Just wanted to give that fact :)

Great video, I was kinda thinking about stuff like this too. My thoughts: - the Deluxo, which is obviously a DMC DeLorean, is also an in-game Imponte, should be its own brand though (unless DMC was somewhat related to Pontiac). - Lampadati seems to be more like a mixture of Italian car brands with Pigalle (the Citroen-lookalike) as the only exception. According to the GTA Wiki, the Zironcium brand should be based on another French brand Renault, which only has like two vehicles: the Stratum (doesn't look like a Renault at all) and the Breaking Bad - like RV. I think, it could be a general French brand and get the Pigalle then. - Pegassi is mostly Lamborghini, but I'd let it pass as a bit more mixed Italian performance manufacturer. This way, Ducati and Pagani would still fit imo. - R* gets Benefactor as Mercedes right, although the Surano (SLS AMG) has a lot from the Jaguar F-Type (definitely the lights, maybe also the front grille) - One thing about GTA IV: the in-game brand Gallivanter (Land Rover) did not exist yet apparently, so the Huntley Sport (Range Rover Sport) was also branded as Vapid. Might have been the case with some other cars too, for now this is the only one I could think about. Also kinda funny, how cars with the same name from other games (take the Infernus and Buffalo from San Andreas or the Banshee from Vice City as example) are definitely inspired by something completely different. (Sorry in advance for eventual typo errors, I tend to oversee them)

Agreed on DMC as it's own brand in GTA....Lampadati is alright too but I don't know where you find info on zirconium because I've read gta wiki now known as gta fandom and they defined zirconium as the element which used to make cheap diamond substances means something that looks expensive but it's rather cheap similarly or cheap copy of expensive vehicles which kind of fit with people perception that saturn vehicles were bland GM knockoffs....and Renault on other hand is reputable brand and It's one of the oldest automobile brands with around 100+ years of history. Pegassi as pagani is alright but sinse we already have ducati as principe in gta universe why not put those bikes in that brand itself. Benefactor can be passed as mercedes since we already have a F-type as ocelot lynx which makes surano a mercedes. I don't know what you mean by land rover being not a real brand or a brand that does not exist because they're still making new models and vapid makes no sense at all because first of all landrover is owned by jaguar secondly jaguar itself is owned by Tata group means ford has nothing to do with these brands now.

@@SD1ONE It was years ago I saw that about Zironcium on Fandom, it might have been deleted by now. Plain memories :D And about Land Rover I meant, the in-game brand Gallivanter seems like it was first invented for GTA V. Of course Land Rover exists and existed for a long time :) But in GTA IV the Huntley was branded as Vapid instead of Gallivanter, which is kinda strange. Sorry for any misunderstandings :)

​@@petertoth3477 Zirconium is still a random brand...I mean stratum is loosely based on saturn and that's all but Land rover as vapid in GTA 4 does make sense....GTA 4 was released on 2008 and Tata bought jaguar and landrover from ford in 2008 but from 1999 to 2008, It was owned by ford that's why In gta 4 vapid makes more sense.

Dukes is a mix between the GTO/Lemans and the Charger. The Nightshade has a Firebird rear half, and you can't say the Ruiner is clearly a Camaro. It has as many Camaro features as Firebird features. The brand Imponte is the dealbreaker therefore it leans more into Pontiac. Considering the Ruiner 2000 and the ZZ-8 are clearly Pontiacs it shouldn't be a question.. Imponte is fine as it is One more thing. Warrener is Nissan/Datsun/Peugeot. Still has no business being in Vulcar

4:53, Intruder also looks like Toyota Mark 2, and Toyota JZX in total, so i think the Karin brand is right for this car. Taillights are from Chaser/Cresta JZX90. Headlights look like mix from Toyota Mark 2 JZX110 and Ininity. Not sure about headlights, but rear part of the car is jzx90 for sure. And I thank everything in this car besides the front end is from jzx.

Oddly infuriated think to me is that Coil Voltic, according to Wiki is Tesla Roadster based vechicle. But you cant change my mind that Voltic is Lotus Elise, starting from more rounded front profile than Tesla, with a radiator of earlier versions of Elise and close to identical hood, continuing with air intakes behind a doors and square profile of a windows, finishing with concave upper part of the back, air vents on the "trunk" and, especialy, round back ligths. Voltic is not a Tesla based car, it is Lotus with electric engine! ☝

They never intended to them to be exact copies of the real world. They are parodys, their products were developed with their own history, the tvr is I think meant to be a statement that that UK brand was acquired by a us manufacturer so in the gta universe in the us they are badged as the main brand.

One thing is that some of the car brands aren't certainly based off one brand. Pegasi is meant to be Pagani and Lamborghini so since their both Italian they throw in some Italian bikes. That's why the Osiris is Pegasi also the name is a play on Pagani. Karin is based of Toyota Lexus and Subaru since their all from the same tree. That's why the Kuruma is Sultan since it's a 50 percent Impreza Sti and Evo X. While Overflod is targeted to be Koenigsegg they added Hyper/super car brands that don't have much cars in general so it's probably it's easier for rockstar to just drop cars their then make each one of them their own brand
