The organ harvesting revelation is the most horrific thing in the series. The 1st game had satan worshiping and demonology, nightmares and dark themes. The 2nd game was dark as well. But all the darl stuff were mostly delusions of a drug addiction mind. The organ harvesting was real.

That’s kinda why MP3 stands out to me as the darkest in the trilogy. The death squads and the organ/human trafficking scheme make the atmosphere feel disturbingly real, as if we’re taking part in something that’s happening in real life.

The atmosphere and especially the music; JESUS FUCKING CHRISTMAS, THE SCORE; in this level has such a tragic beauty, so dark, emotional, uncensored, raw, heroic in a realistic sense, and touching in very melancholic ways. Nearly fucking cried hearing the music and watching the horrors unfold, which says a lot cause I rarely ever get that emotional. God fucking damn it Rockstar knows how to develop video games as an art form.

Max Payne, after all the shit he's been through in the first two games, takes on a easy gig protecting rich people in a hot country and gets thrown into the worst pit humanity has to offer. He isn't a too happy guy clinging on to life over all, but he was willing to die on that roof and couldn't care less about it after he made it through that "hotel".

I can understand Max willing to die, after all he's been through. As long as he took all those scumbags with him. But what doesn't make sense is how Paso's was able to make his way up him as the building was literally falling apart. The writing could have been a little bit better there. As it could have been in chapter 13, when Max literally walks in and gives up his weapon to turn himself in. At least 3 or 4 times in the game he escaped death when in reality he would have stood no chance. Same goes for the chapter when the mob was digging his grave. I know it's just a video game and all, but still. Anyway, I'm not shitting on it. Still probably my favorite game ever.

@@AJice1980 I think it's plausible. Passos shown himself to be capable throughout the game. Fights off the Cracha Preto at the stadium, can handle a heavy sniper rifle, was able to help Max fight off and kill a lot of DeMarco's thugs. All the commotion Max caused distracted the Cracha Preto so he could sneak his way through. The bad writing part comes in that he abandons Max at the Bus Station, and then somehow knows where to find him? Like did Da Silva tell him? Did Giovanna force Passos to go back because Max saved her life? The game is a masterpiece for sure, but I wish they had done more story levels instead of a multiplayer though. The multiplayer was not that great and barely had any players.

A bottle like that works similar to a suppressor, without the typical multiple baffles, which is why it deteriorates very quickly. If you shoot the weapon more than four or five times in game the weapon returns to its normal sound but the bottle remains, which is kind of accurate (more so than any other game I can recall).

Thinking back now after playing this game years ago, I think the harvesting organ scandal is probably one of the most darkest crimes humans could ever commit. Like butchering and selling people as meat is such a dehumanizing act of horror that even the most hardened criminals like Serrano could never forgive. The scariest thing is that it's a thing in the present world and people will go to any depths for money.

This level is the closest we get to old school Payne flavor of the first two. An empire of evil found in the shadows. And Max does something about it. Say whatever you want about the rest of the narrative or story but this level got it right even if it did borrow some moments from max Payne 2.

Close, it's a SPAS-15 - used by the Brazilian Armed Forces. R* were pretty smart with the guns, for example the classic Baretta 92FS has been swapped for a Taurus PT92; essentially the same gun but manufactured in an old Baretta factory in Brazil.

I'm well aware of the concept of a suppressor. Which is why I pointed out that the bottle is utilized as a single baffle (as apposed to numerous baffles) to slow and cool the expansion of PROPELLENT GAS (not air). It wouldn't work well for a 9mm but a .22 could theoretically have a noticeable effect. While the affect on a 9mm is negligible the concept is plausible. Remember this is a video game so your whinging is pointless. I personally think this game did an excellent job overall.

I just explained how it is plausible so saying "no" is not an argument unless your ten years old. It WOULD work with a low caliber weapon. Besides a suppressor does not make a weapon silent, it reduces the decibel produced and however small the reduction it would still be reduced; thus making the concept plausible.
