@@savetheevo that's true, but we also have to consider that the gtas at that time were still top graphics, the Dev team was much smaller and had less money to work with. I get that we can't a new game from a series every year except you want the same thing over and over like cod or assassins creed a few years ago, but if we look at insomniac for example, they release spider man miles morales and ratched and clank in the last 10 months, and already announced wolverine and Spiderman 2. Look at Santa Monica, they did God of war in 18 and already announced gow2 which will come out next year most likely. It's possible to produce top games in a reasonable time period. I would be okay with a 4-5 years circle with gta. But rockstar is just lazy, it's not like the didn't release a new gta because they did other stuff like midnight club, a new bully or max Payne. The only thing they did was rdr2, from a company that has 4-5 different teams (NY, Edinburgh, San Diego, the New team they acquired last year or 2019). Just sad to see what they have become...

Never actually noticed as a kid playing this before but Vic being high off the cocaine in 4:04:51 actually makes him invincible to bullets just like tony montana in Scarface. Damn coke is a helluva drug. This game had Scarface written all over it. More so than 2 years later with Vice City.

5:51:52 - Louise Death Cutscene My take on this: This is the saddest thing I've seen in a videogame, Louise just wanted love, love for her and her daughter who will accept who she really is. Victor just wanted the same he just wanted to be with Louise. When the "Mission Passed" text appeared on screen I was so dead inside I can't process anything. But shit hit me hard when I drove home in the car with radio on in Emotion 98.3 and the playing the song "I want to know what love is", I'm a grown man and it made me teared up a bit.

This game doesn’t get enough credit. It was The Grand Finale to the original GTA III era, and it’s story is surprisingly loaded with pathos. My first GTA too :)

A freaking masterpiece. Back when I was 8 I played the game. Until I have 9 could finish it. It was hard af in some missions, but at least those were the last games that counts in the hard mission kind like the GTA III, The VC, the LCS and of course this old 84' ambient VCS. Incredible sad & I must say, pretty dramatic thought all the crap Louise & Vic has passed. My PS2 Slim gots really hot in the top after playing the game over 6 hours, but damn I just could not get enough. Even the boss was tough as hell. Thx for the nostalgia. Currently I haven't my PS2 anymore, shit actually cause' I know the buyers of that time would never take care of it like I would, but everyone makes shit like that. After all, our childhood can't stay with us forever. 😭💯🙌🏻

I think this game is a fitting swan-song for GTA 3D Universe. While it is sad that it had to end, we had a good time going through the impeccable story missions from III in 2001 all the way to VCS in 1984. There were moments that made us laugh, made us cry, made us wish for more perhaps. Some play in that order, while some prefer to follow the proper timeline and play it in chronological order. Either way I believe we had a great time.

This game felt empty when I first opened it up and played the first few missions. But I grew on my so quickly. The radio stations were brilliant as was the story (as depressing as it turned out to be), the side activities, empire building, characters. I went from thinking this was a cheap version of vice city, to thinking it is as good, have more fond memories playing this than the "original".
