The Spoon team brought a race spec hybrid Honda CR-Z from Japan and the all star driving team is made up by Tatsuru Ichishima, Naoki Hattori, Hidetoshi Mitsusada and Daijiro Yoshihara.

I was there when they started the race. it was very cool seeing these cars in person i mean the sound of the motor are loud and that straight away turn with down shift was pretty nice to hear. oh yea i got pictures of them in the group if anyone wanna see them

Thunderhills is a BEAUTIFUL track! Everything you could ask for! Long sweepers, tight turns, corkscrew, changes in elevation! Check out my insane crash there a few months ago on my motorcycle:/

The longest endurance race is Chumpcar. They had a 36 hour race last year in Spokane WA.

Just wondering in the translation, why the flavor or the way they say things was not included. For example when he said bring the car back home, wouldnt it be more proper please bring the car back home in one piece? I guess it still gets the point across, I merely wondering ^_^

Great question. The word for word translation of the last radio com at 4:59 is "Carry the car to the goal please". But many times we edit the English to make it sound more natural in conversation or in real life. Sometimes it has to do with the space available on the screen too! : ) Here we used "Bring the car home in one piece" because it was at the end of the race and did not differ from the original message in Japanese.

Hi GTchannel, is there a link to the winners of this events for all classs? Thanks BTW when I am doing with my 1986 Buick Grand National, turbo v6 from the 80's I want to bring it down to you guys for a drive. Got two brides and takatas as seats hehe, also black edition AVCR from APEXi, and 16x9.5 riken mesh wheels. I'd love an HKS waste to control my exhaust pressures, dang their expensive. I was hoping you guys were going to buy Speed Channel on TV. It's gone now!! Happy New Year GT

GTChannel VERY cool thank you very much! Has GT Channel every read up or looked into America's Darth Vader, the Buick Grand National? Turbo v6 from factory, tuned to beat corvettes. What is cool is that the Grand National broke GM's 'golden rule' which was that GM's fastest produced car was and always will be the corvette. But due to interal beefs with engineers buick ended up making this RARE rule break. In 1986-1987 for only two years before the entire Grand National line got canceled, buick's Grand National was the fastest car GM produced. The black sheep of the hot rod world. It was only a few years later that engine v6 turbo broke records in the UNLIMITED class of drag racing, beating ALL big block v8's and running 6's in the quarter mile. I have been a fan of GT and grew up watching recorded VHS tapes of JGTC, its always been my dream to see a Jap tuner get their hands on a buick grand national. On my Grand National I have some JDM goodies; bride brix 1 seats, takata harness, avcr black edition, riken 16x10 mesh wheels. Good luck this new year GT channel!

Running a race is a collaborative effort and Paul Walker's shop AE Performance supported Spoon with trailers, storage and crew for the race. Paul passed away just a week before this race so the racecar ran with AE stickers on the car and also wanted to support ROWW dot org in some fashion.
