Hey my car wouldn’t start the other day coming out of work. It was really hot so I don’t know if it was the battery or not. When I put the key in and turned I’d get this low faint clicking sound then it went silent when I tried turning the key the second time. The light on dash board and the odometer was on at the time. I got it jumped start and drove to autozone where they checked the battery, alternator and starter. They showed me the voltage of the starter when I cranked was a bit low like 9.9v. Everything else like the battery and the alternator was fine. Anyway, yesterday I tried turning on the engine and got no crank at all. The light on dash board was lit but the car failed to start . Today I tried starting the car again and this time it took a few slow crank to finally got it to start. I took the car to a mechanic shop today and he tested starter, alternator and battery. He said the battery was ok the starter was a little low. I went ahead and changed out the starter given my car has 160k miles. After getting the car back, I noticed the crank was a little better but still not as fast. I took it to Autozone and had them recheck and now they said the battery is very low. So what do you think I should do? I saw a video on KZbin about removing the HFL unit since it was known to drain the battery in TSX and TL. I will wait until tomorrow and see if the battery and the car will crank up. At this point I don’t know if I should get a new battery from Costco. The one that is currently on the car is from Acura which still under warranty. Please let me know what you think I should do. Thanks

The power steering rack leaking is a common problem. It's leaking from where the inner tie rod connects to the rack. I'd suggest you replace the entire rack, inner/outer tierods and finish it off with an alignment.
@heatherrhodge25884 жыл бұрын
theres a tech service bulletin about the o rings in the rack (located in area your talking about).. honestly this SHOULD have been a recall because Honda knew the o rings were faulty (hence the TSB) and so so many people required rack replacements (due to the bad o rings), but of course that would have been expensive for Honda (doing the right thing) I honestly feel like they just find the cheapest part related to whatever the real prob is and also quick for their mechanics and issue recalls that don't even fix the real problem, like the PS hose in this case rather than rack. the other being the cheap plastic cover for the ECM for the corrosion. I found the instructions for handling their ECM corrosion recall and the only way their mechanics were told to replace the module was if ONE particular DTC was present.. didn't matter if the unit was covered in corrosion! no P0606 code? just wipe down the ECM housing with a rag sprayed with cleaner & install the cheap a$$ piece of thin plastic (that honestly is pretty much useless for preventing corrosion since the cover isn't even covering the part of the ECM that comes in contact with the carpet..which is where the corrosion comes from..it's due to the deicing solution used on roads and parking lots that gets on peoples shoes and soaks into the carpet which eventually makes its way to the ECM since the ECM touches the edge of the carpet) it my case, my car went into limp mode less than a month after having the recall procedure performed (and not even 100 miles past what's on the paperwork from dealer telling mileage at time of recall procedure) my car stays in garage also AND it hadn't rained even once that whole month either.. except for the night my car went into limp mode. my ECM was CAKED with CORROSION OMG it's insane how bad it was!! they didn't even bolt the freakn cover on like the instructions said (it was just thrown into the spot where the ECM sits.. not even covering it at all.. which it wouldn't have done any good anyway even if it were attached like it was supposed to be since obv the corrosion had been accumulating for a long long time...I mean one of the chips had legs that were disintegrated all the way through from corrosion)..I wish I could post pics it's SOOO bad! I'ma see if I figure out how to add pics and if so I'll reply to this with some.

Where does the coolant come from? The overflow reservoir you pulled out or a hose? If it's a hose then which one? I just finished replacing my PCM in my 05 TSX and resoldered the EEPROM immobilizer chip from the original. Only drove the car not even a mile (to my daughter's kindergarten orientation & noticed a slack tire so came home right after to pump it up. Accidently left my trunk open n drained the battery. Charged it but car wouldn't crank! Took battery to get tested and despite 12.6 volts no amps. Had warranty so got new battery& was so relieved but after hooking it up the car still won't crank. (Flexplate turns slightly but that's it. Before watching someone else try cranking it I didn't think anything happened when turning the key bc u can't hear it in the car). Anyway, I want to try jumping my starter straight from the battery but with its location I'm kinda scared to! Would you say it could be possible to attach jumper to it without removing the front of the intake? From just looking under the hood it doesn't appear possible.🙁
@heatherrhodge25884 жыл бұрын
BTW the point in jumping it is to figure out if the starter is faulty before buying one. I haven't had any issues with slow starting or anything up until killing my battery. It's weird to me that the battery tested bad and at the same time the starter went bad. If I had a way to the battery store id take the new one & have em check it just to make sure it's not a dud before getting into taking my car apart!
