@@deerfootnz not necessarily. Instant Pots, Crockpots, etc., have a continuous energy draw. The beauty of a thermal cooker is that after the initial cook, you’re using zero power and only the insulation of the thermal cooker to continue to cook the food. It’s more or less a ‘cook your food now and use power’ versus a ‘partially cook your food now, use less power, but use residual heat and wait an hour (or two) longer’ for your meal.
