There are actually a few new endings you can access in the base game. For one, at the elevator that leads to the Mind Control Facility, you can now go back up. Go up and down a few times and you'll eventually get a brand new ending. Second, the 'Bottom of the Mind Control Facility' bug is now an ending. Just find a way to drop down! And thirdly, at the cargo lift platform, eventually a plank of wood will appear that allows you to access a vent down beside it on the left. You can technically get to it earlier if you use an unintended glitch method by crawling along the VERY edge, but this is safer and more reliable. Oh, and the Games Ending has been completely changed in this version of the game as well!

A few secret endings for next stream Ride the lift all the way over to the end. There you'll enter a room with a phone. Instead of answering it, unplug it Walk through the boss's office and then back out again before the doors close, then go back to the beginning Walk onto the desk in the Mind Control Facility and fall off the edge That's all for now. I'll try to reply with a few more if I can think of any

I think it's super clever that 'freedom' ending (turn off mind control) not only happens when you 1) Obey the Narrator ALWAYS and 2) Ends with ONLY in-game moment when you LOSE control of the character (you see 1st person but it's cut-scene line moment) and 3) Ends with same words 'And stanley was happy' that at the start implied that he was being mind controlled... fucking so many levels of 'wrong' in one moment Narrator: No longer would anyone tell him where to go, what to do or how to feel. Also Narrator: Stanley steped through the open door - and stanley was happy.

I love that the base "follow all the rules" narrative is still subversive. Stanley gains freedom from you giving up all of your control.

Opinion: The Narrator is a metaphor for subversion, inserting a new system to root out another one, one with the same ruleset but different faces.

I actually took a university course about metagames and we talked about Stanley Parable a lot I could add so much to this but the thing that fascinated me the most is the "true ending" where you follow the narrator's voice You'd think that he shows you a world of freedom bit exactly at that point, the game switches to a cutscene and therefore actually taking over all control So the player actually has no choice even though the narrator says so But you could probably analyze this game to death despite of it's simplistic controls, graphics, etc.
@endlesslytired2 жыл бұрын
You should do the normal endings with a certain bucket you come across, you get a lot of new dialogue and new stuff happens

Hey Matpat! If you slow down some of the eerie background noises in the skip button ending, you might hear the narrator trying to call Stanley for help or just trying to find Stanley. (You have to speed it up around 500% to hear it?) Might want to check it out.

@NotDudeGuy They did a goodbye stream a year ago. From what I gather it was to both free up time for her to do more behind the scenes work for the channels as well as for her to spend some time with family and loved ones. She has a toddler and that takes priority because he is dependent on them. But mostly she felt it was time for a change since she had been doing it for 5 years at that point.

Around 32:00 ish when they were both trying desperately to remember the name of "The Beginner's Guide" made me chuckle because JUST the other day I was trying to tell my sister about it (Stanley Parable is one of her favorite games) and couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Glad I'm not alone EDIT: 35:00 ish Bruh that was the fastest I have ever seen anyone find the Whiteboard ending, and without even looking for it 42:23 "I wonder what he was before? (Jokingly) LORE??" People who know: 👀 LAST EDIT 43:32 YES!!!! FINALLY someone talking about how the Narrator IS on Stanley's side!! He's a sarcastic little jerk a lot of the time, sure, but he genuinely does want Stanley to be happy - the "good" ending is just listening to the path he's set out for you. And Matpat bringing up that the suicide ending (well, really ANY bad ending) is you exerting your "free will", but which is more important - Stanley's happiness or your free will? It's really insightful and I didn't even pick up on it when I was introduced to the game years ago.

I'm very happy to see him playing one of my favorite games ever, but I think Mat turned down the game volume which is mildly infuriating because it's harder to hear the narrator on my phone
