Global Triathlon Network Seems like a great course for newbies to the Ironman distance. I expect to see some great times for the pros. Wonder if the heat might slow anyone down this year though?

@@PivotFirearms Think heat is going to play a massive part this year - kudos to everyone who's competing Sunday!

Global Triathlon Network I did the Frankfurt City Olympic distance last year. Same route. Very fast bike course.

In my non triathlete-Ironman opinion, I would associated All Ironman races with a swim always in the open waves sea.....? Would many be in lakes or rivers? Great looking event non the less!!!!

With 39C forecast for Sunday, I wish they postpone the race till Monday (ideally Tuesday). Car races are being postponed due to rain, people are more important than cars.

As far as I know, it's not that the WTC didn't renew the license for the Roth organiser. Quite the opposite: the Roth boss decided his race wasn't getting the recognition it deserved and told WTC to stick it. Now Roth indeed seems to get the recognition; you could question if Frankfurt indeed is the number one full distance event in Europe. Yes, Frankfurt has the Frodeno-Lange-Kienle trio, but 2 out of the 3 top male Kona 2018 finishers are racing Roth this year. The women are also pretty much equally split.

As a local, I can confirm you covered the course very well and pronounced the German proper names correctly as well. Actually the Frankfurt IM triggered to me to start triathlon. After my 1st tri competion in 2018 and my 70.3 in 2019 I will participate in the IM Frankfurt in 2020! (I am still in doubt if I should look forward to it or be afraid of it though.....)

Did it last year 188 km bike.for the amount you pay to race ,You would think they could get the distance correct. Official bike is 180 !!! Sad they can t get it accurate after all the money people pay!
