In this video I get the rear cradle back into the GTO after upgrading all the bushings and I show you how to use a Rear Cradle Alignment tool to properly. After that I upgrade the springs with drag bags and get the car buttoned up and back on the road.

if u drop the shock bolts will help keep the spring pressure from pushing the cradle while u align it i found

I got rid of the drag bags and went to stiffer springs. Viking adjustable shocks. No issues with traction on drag radials.

my rear driver wheel is closet to the body than the other side , can I solve it with this tool?

Did I hear right drag bags at 35 psi? I been trying to find out what mine should or could , rather be set at. I heard like 15 to 20 psi max.? I still have factory springs. Put Pedders shocks ( mid grade non adjust) and drag bags . Now car sits with a rake rear higher which ideally don't like. My original shocks must have been shot? But stance looked great. Even with bags empty still raked So just Pedders shocks made that difference? All of this was done in attempts of killing the craptastic WheelHop.. Great Video Great Car.. Keep em coming.

Whats the purpose of the drag bags ? Is it 4 better launches? Ive got lowered king springs rear fe2 height with pedders sports ryders @ front!

They help control movement of the rear end during a hard launch. Basically they make it a little stiffer and help the shock from bottoming out. Mainly used for drag racing

I did find the alignment tool for $300 usd new so roughly $500 aud way out of my price range...

Can I bother you for the short measurement between the pins on one side

The tool is at the shop. I can grab a measurement but using a tape measure or something can only get you close, the tool is the only way to dial it in perfect.

@@hook937 I agree I tried to do the rear control arms today and I’m afraid it’s just gonna be easier to drop the whole cradle and I have a ton of tubing I was gonna try and weld one before I concede defeat and buy one

I just did do the whole rear suspension in polyurethane in my 06 GTO but I still hear an annoying squeaking when I go over speed bumps slowly. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Is the alignment tool vehicle specific?

MicTheGreaseMonkey the tool fits several GM/Holden vehicles but it is not universal. Many of these vehicles left the factory with the cradle alignment a little off.
